OP said he was out of warranty, so I don't know why everyone is freaking out.

OP, I would suggest, as others have, that you take the tune out yourself. Dealer would likely screw it up somehow.

That 'bro job' comment literally made me laugh out loud!

At first I thought you were mocking how fobby Asians would pronounce 'blow job'.

if i were you (and if that car had warranty and you gave more than 2 shits about it) i would run over to the dealership RIGHT NOW and tip the SA $100.

then push your box out of his shop, or have it towed out of there, remove the JB4 and then drive it back in.

if all that comes together, i would then give your SA a "bro job".

bro job is when a bro gives a bj to another bro.....

he's actually giving you an opportunity to save your own stupid ass.....

If it weren't for the funny response posts I would want to slam my face into concrete as well...

Common sense is not so common and humor is wonderful thing...

I know... I don't get it... The car is out of warranty so what's the big deal? I'll admit to being stupid for not realizing the JB4 might interfere with the software upgrade. And I will definitely give props on the bro-job comment. I LOL'd on that one.

i dunno, thought about it one day when Texas A&M was playing LSU for some bowl game.

i told my co-worker (who happens to have a ring from A&M) that LSU was going to donkey stomp Texas A&M.

i told him that he would owe me a "bro job" if LSU won because it was a friendly bet amongst "bro's"

car is out of warranty, but didn't BMW extend the warranty 100k something just for the fuel pump issue?

car retrieved with nothing done to it, and was told to bring it back for the recall whenever i take the JB4 out. no bro-jobs given - he didn't seem into it for some reason.
