335i steptronic question

can you redline the steptronic transmission or will it eventually just shift for you after a certain point..at what point does it shift for you...

Yes, Yes, Depends.

In D/S Manual mode under hard acceleration it will go to/near Redline and then shift for you.

i just cant understand whats the point to make up to 8000 rpm on the gauge
