Confused...

OC says the car is still awaiting transport and i know its a few days behind...
1800 hotline automated information tells me its waiting at the port of exit...
and NOW I call customer relations at the 1800 hotline and they tell me the car left the port of exit already!! so as im getting excited, I ask WHEN did it depart? and he tells me it left the port on the 15th....

no ship left on the 15th... so im confused.. (bs or just clueless?)

If your car left on the 15th, you should be able to go to the auto cargo tracker and it will tell you what ship you're on. If not, call your CA.

Steve, I have tried the cargo tracker NUMEROUS times, put in my VIN and it doesn't accept the number as being valid.

Enter your VIN carefully - sometimes a 0 can look like the letter O - hope this helps.

Forget all that, just call your CA. He will know better than the automated systems and the 800#.

I just called the 800 number too, and got a similar but different story. He said the car got to the port on the 15th, but that their system basically stops there. They have no way to track when it got on a ship, or which ship it might be. So, I suspect that's why the 15th date doesn't match any ship schedule - cause it didn't leave on the 15th, but got to the port on that date (probably on the same train as mine!).

I'm calling my CA tomorrow to get the straight poop. I also get no hits on the WW website, and my VIN doesn't have any zero's or O's in it, so I know it's entered correctly.

fyi,Vin's don't have o's only zero's.......did you talk to your CA yet ? They should be able to give you better info through dealerspeed,the BMW internal web site.

same boat as you, not litterally but figuratively my car is supposedly "At the port awaiting a shipping vessel" but its been about 8 days... and i missed 3 maybe 4 boats... i just dont know, and even better my CA isnt working until tommorow. YAY! more waiting... just dont feel like your alone.

I called back tonite and got a different guy on the phone. He knew what was on his computer and told me the same facts the VaBMWLooker got and that it hit the port on the 15th. Other than that they have no clue where the car is...

He also did say that the automated 1800 hotline gets switched when the car leaves the port and that is not controlled by them, so who knows, may b im still lampin at the port starring at some sea gulls..

I did email my CA and still waiting for some ANSWERS.

But my CA called yesterday and left a message in reply to my message a day prior. he said that he didnt know which ship, it is on. I know that the info is available to him since he showed it to me on his computer last week. I don't know how up to date the info is. But I would expect his info to be more contemporary.

krapnoj - check the shipping site - since my post last night, the 800 number has updated to "in transit", and the shipping site has me sailing on the Courage. Maybe you're on it with me, since we seemed to be moving through the system together.
