Last minute post - things to do this weekend / places to see / visit in VA / NC...
Flying into Newport News tonight, picking up a new car in Kitty Hawk tomorrow. No plans at all otherwise. Driving back from Kitty Hawk to Wisconsin Sunday. Looking for anything I shouldn't miss out on - lighthouses, scenic drives etc etc night life anywhere along that route.
Both my girlfriend and I are in our late 20's so looking to have some fun over the next few days. We don't have any hotel reservations or any other plans whatsoever. Thinking about doing Virginia beach tonight and spend sometime on a beach tomorrow and / or saturday. Initially we thought about crashing on the beach on night... Also heard about the tail of the dragon..? 300 curves in 11 miles? Last edited by wisco; 07-14-2011 at 09:49 AM.. |

Raleigh, NC is amazing if it isn't out of your way. Must stop by The Pitt for the best damn BBQ you'll ever have.

Tail of the dragon is amazing from the videos I've seen. Never driven it myself. It's in western nc so it might be out of the way for you.

not a big weekend for car-related stuff, but there's always Cars & Coffee in MD & VA on Sat AM and Church of the Holy Donut on Sunday AM in MD. all are early morning events you can always stop by Baltimore/Annapolis for crabs/crab cakes. its what we do
