90 hp is about what the procede gives you so it is a reasonable # based on how small the turbos are. Whether or not BMW decides to go this route remains to be seen. Now another 90hp to bring you a total gain of 180 will probably cost in the neighborhood of 5K. HP gains cost exponentially more money and time and risk.

He's not trying to sell me a 335....I just bought my 330 6 months ago and love it.
You guys crack me up...I'm just passing on information. Maybe his $ cost number of 500 ends up being low but even if BMW wanted $$995.00 for it, they would have enough buyers to make a pretty penny for what would ultimatly be a 1/2 of labor. As soon as I find out more I'll fill you in.

It's a wonderful daydream though....
Dear BMW, Please give me another 90 HP for $1000.... That's all I want for Christmas. Oh and some 230 wheels and tires.

hmmmmmm........
IF IF IF this is true I could see BMW's logic. Why have people spend $$$ with aftermarket companies that could result in more warranty claims when you could offer a flash youself that you have control over. This would be AWESOME if it is true, but I'm not holding my breath. |

I dont think they're going to do it, and please stop pointing your guns at the messenger, but it's not a bad thought. What they'd lose in M3 sales, they'd make up in 335 sales, and i'm willing to bet they'll make more profit per car off of the 335. So we'll see. Again, it's completely unheard of and farfetched, but you know.. it just might work.
Porsche offered a 40hp upgrade kit for the Carrera S (maybe the carrera as well, i don't remember). That would "cut into GT3" sales, wouldn't it? Of course not, but I guess the difference is that it was almost a 20,000 dollar option

Carl how bout another phone call to BMW CEO? hehe jk
I doubt if it true too, but even if it's right I don't think we're talking about 90 HPs here, I mean procede is 1.3K right? the one from eurobahn is 600 right now and it produces about 40-45 HPs, so for BMW making a simple upgrade (probably few lines of code for the computer which don't cost much) that would give you 90 HPs for 500 is very unreasonable, 90 for 1000 or even 1500 would be more spot on, people will buy the regardless. That would turn a 300 HPs machine into close to 400HPs ---

That being said, you got to get me some serious drugs to believe bmw will reflash a ECU for less than a few thousand for even 30 more whp. |

Here's BMW's logic: we will carefully spread this rumor around and it will make people to hold their breath and not to buy aftermarket ECU upgrades for at least some time.

I could believe this
BMW possibly trying to steal all the sales from IS350 and G35 Upcoming G37 is pretty good for its price All of them have more HP (on the paper) and i think BMW realizes that they have to bump up the HP as well Since this is not such a difficult task and unexpencieve at the same time it make sence to have it as an option for $500-1000 335i is already in high $40s in price, so this seams like good marketing move As for the M3, it's totally diff car and it is in its own world, shouldnt hurt it too bad |

ok... heard back from my CA and it goes like this...
My Question: "Hey Bro, rumor is floating around the forums that BMW is coming out with something that will increase the HP in the 335i an additional 90 horses, costing is anywhere from $500 to $1k. Have you heard anything about this? " Response: "I've seen it also - I think it's called a turbo tuner and it costs about $700 and adds 50-55hp. It's not from BMW - it's aftermarket."
