Good stuff . I'm interested though, why did you decide to change your GIAC to the COBB...and I guess your Alpina tune to the GIAC respectively?

AR said they have two on the shelf ready to ship. So first payment gets those. Alpina & jamjay by the sounds of things. Your units will be collected by USPS this morning.
The remainder will be shipped Thursday. Expect 4 day delivery time.

Re only ones I believe there are a few enrita who frequents the us boards but is Sweden or something. Also one other chap in the uk I don't recal the name but based in london. Have seen him on us boards.

Thanks Alex, that delivery time is especially quick. I edited my post as I headed over to the COBB Forum and saw a guy from London on there who purchased the AP in early Decemeber. I wouldn't have minded seeing a review from him using our 99RON and how it took to it.

Just to avoid confusion, my car is not an Alpina (although I have the Alpina aerodynamics package and their wheels on my car).

I'm very happy with my GIAC stage 2 remap. Unfortunately, GIAC does not offer maps for upgraded turbos (and have confirmed they will not develop these) and their stage 2 tune does not work with upgraded turbos (enrita tried that out). Also, COBB have the substantial advantage that I can flash at home - I've already sent my DME to a GIAC dealer several times and it's always quite annoying as I can't drive my car for at least 10 days. COBB also seem to develop more options that I'm interested in, as methanol integration and different throttle maps.

That's great news, I will then most likely receive it sometime next week.

Yes, enrita has been using COBB for some time and likes it very much. In particular with upgraded turbos it seems to have resolved the fueling problems that were encountered with people using upgraded turbos plus JB4 or PROcede, even up to 18/19 psi. I expect there to be quite a few more, now that European cars are officially supported.

Alpina, how are you going to integrate methanol with your RB turbos and the Cobb?

I believe COBB is working both on methanol maps (without these running meth doesn't make much sense anyway) and a failsafe. A possibility would also be to use the JB3 I still have lying around, like Dzenno is doing.

Time will tell, but there will certainly be options in the near future.

Implicitly yes, because I could easily upgrade the JB3 to a JB4.

I got tracking info from AR Design - didn't they send you an e-mail? Mine is still in the US though (at some sorting facility). But USPS does not update the tracking system very often, as I've seen in the past.

Mate, I highly doubt AR will shaft you, I think as I said he only had two units for dispatch first paid = first shipped.
I think Marcel and Nigel got the first two.

Anyway probs a bit frosty out there to be trying out the maps properly - yes just trying to convince myself really!

Sometimes you need to request the tracking from AR

Hi all.

So who of you has had email confirmation of your order? I emailed AR 3days ago and no response at all. How do you get hold of these guys short of calling The States?! I'm a little confused as they've taken the cash but I've been told nothing, I don't care if it takes a month just so long as they tell me and I can track it .

P.s. I have just PM'd them here, see what happens I guess.

If customer service is more important to you, getting a response in a timely manner and actually getting tracking information we have plenty of Cobb's ready to go overseas.
