It's just the piece that connects from the intercooler to the throttle body; it also houses your diverter valves, or blow off valves, as well as your TMAP sensor.

It also is a common upgrade for methanol injection kits as it allow for meth bungs. The larger OD pipe allows for better atomization, it also gets rid of weak stock rubber elbows and leaky DV systems.

+1 on above... I see you have BMS DCI, so your charge pipe is very visible. You can see how it connects the intercooler cold side to the throttle body.
