E90 LCI and HID Ring Bulbs

Having in past tried LED markers, and now on GP Thunders I'm still not 100% happy with the result.

The GP THunders are still miles better than anything else I've tried but still dull during the day.

Therefore it got me thinking of using xenon H8 kit instead.

Came across this oen on ebay with slim ballasts just wondering if anyone has tried or read anything about using HID kit for the rings.

Which one is H8 on LCI headlights?
Are we talking about Halo rings?

If I was you, I would give it a go. During the night, outer rings will disappear as main headlight will be on, however inner ring will be prominent but not more than headlights in comparison.

I might give 5000k ones a go and see at £20 for a kit its not bank breaker though heat is one thing I'm thinking about but then GP thunders are 35W and Xenons should give out any more heat than normal bulbs if the kit is 35W.

Well I hope not

Xeonon H8 will generate far less heat compared to GP Thunders / standard halogen bulbs. As most of Xenon creat less heat.
However fitting ballast and heat generating from that would be issue.
So Whats the plan? Where are you planning to fit ballasts?

I hope you post some photos as it may help others. My car is gone, otherwise I would give this a go.

I think so just hunting for right kit as the cheap ones are non CANBUS so will strobe, will order in next few days and give it a go I think.

What happened to your car

If you are into programming, you can uncheck warm and cold checking of these to avoid any warnings.
Or you can have warning cancellation kit, or canbus error free ballasts (expensive).

Mine has been involved in an accident and it is total loss, so cannot play with mine at the moment.

All the best and let us know how you get on with it.

damm shame about your car, I dont want to start messing with coding as car under warranty but its about £20 between canbus kit and non so easier to get one that works without need for adapters
