a tip for somebody retroffiting to a non nav car like i did is that the emulator from latvia on ebay around £180 is not comapanble after i have had 2 replaced but then fitted one to a car that had factory cic nav and upgraded to ccc and they do work.

the one from patryk at bimmer tech i think it is does work going from non nav to cic.

Lemans, how long does PATRYK took to reply you? recently asked him about m3 clusters and well i think i been ignore.

Thanks for the tip; I have not decided if I am going down the emulator route or get the OEM fsc codes. I have been speaking to Patryk at Bimmertech and he was advising about the pro & cons of both routes.

I was also speaking to the guys a BimmerRetrofit in Canada and they reckon their emulator does not affect the CIC unit receiving the speed pulse signal.

i gave you some duff info my box is from bimmer retrofit and has no effect on the speed or anything its spot on.

emulator ebay or forum around £150-£180
usb(optional) Dealer part £56
Centre console trim if upgrading from non or ccc nav.

Sorry Lemans 330d, can you confirm if you got your CAN emulator from Bimmertech or BimmerRetrofit?

Any issues with it, speed pulse, etc?

Im at a loss to understand why you cannot buy the unit, screen and idrive controller and just retrofit into a pre LCI car?

Or is it more to do with the sat nav/GPS part of the modification that throws up errors?

Hello everyone.

I recently left Merc and bought a 330D.

I currently have CCC pro. I have been reading about the CIC retrofit and have gathered enough info to go ahead with the project.

I am ordering the parts needed to do the job. However, I am not sure about trim parts.

* What CIC trim refers to? does it refer to the trim(plastic bezel) around the monitor? in that case, should I buy one even if I already have CCC navigation?

OR it refers to the centre console plastic bit where the heated seat icons ect are located?

or it simply refers to new CIC i drive trim?

I know I have to change the trim where iDrive is going to be located.

Would anyone help me by saying If i need any other part rather than these? (considering I already have trim suitable for iDrive) Thank you very much

the cic trim is the plastic front that clips onto the cic nav to cover the silver when fitted,you also need a centre console to accomodate the cic controller as its larger than ccc.

My CCC DVD drive has died so I have thought about upgrading to CIC but can't really justify it just yet.
