The texture is amazingly smooth. I had a white E60 M5 before with powder coated black rims. So I know what I am talking about. And this looks pretty much the same.

Nice picture

I didn't take the wheels of nor the caps. Too much unnecessary work. Just stuff two or three plastic bags behind the rim to cover the brakes thats all you need. And after putting on 5 or 6 or 7 coats it is VERY EASY to remove the black of the BMW emblem.
Trust me....

And good eyes.. yes I got the PE exhaust (which I will try to spray black next!!!) I am thinking about the glossifier but I do not think I'll need it. Or does it make things easier with the brake dust? I think it looks great even without it.

Did you put it also on your mirrors? I was planning on doing that tomorrow!

yeah, did my mirrors too. I won't be as keen putting it on the muffler tips since it gets really hot there. I did the full dismount because I'm ocd and don't wanna see any silver paint from the rim through the spokes. The glossifier gives it an even smoother finish, which worked especially well on the mirror caps. Also matches the shadowline trim close enough. I've had mine on for about a month and there's no sign of brake dust caking... at least compared to the original finish.

So the Plasti dip is holding up very well. I have to touch up here and there especially after i had new tires installed but it still looks very good! Now I bought new M355's though and I am considering to powder coat them. Anybody can hook me up with a good powder coat deal?

Looks good! If you want to make those accents pop....I bet if you painted your eyebrows with the lense tint ( a few coats to make dark) your front end would POP !!! Since you are good with paint, it will be a cheap mod and look quite nice!

with a little acetone, the mod can be undone if you dont like!

Lightbulb Current style

Just to show you how the car currently looks like after about 10 months of Plasti Dip. Remember I sprayed everything myself and it's not 100% perfect but I still think it does the job well.

Oh really? Thank you. I was looking into spacers but still haven't made a decision. I don't want to go too far out though. I just bought new AG M355's and waiting for them to arrive. I'll probably put spacers on once I got them. Which ones can you recommend?

Looks very good with that color car. However it would look like shit on a white car, IMO.

Yep black wheels look ghetto on a white car IMO. Too much contrast. With a color like yours it's perfect though.

I strongly disagree. I had a white E60 M5 before with black rims and yellow brakes. It was the most perfect looking M5.

Hmm, well never mind me then, I'm old school. Black rims remind me of poor people in the 70's and 80's who lost their hubcaps and couldn't afford to replace them. The only time people would actually buy black wheels was if they had a polished rim, such as the old BBS 3-piece lace wheels.

Oh now I totally understand where you're coming from see I wasn't alive in the 80s and growing up in Germany none of the cars had hubcaps so I didn't go through that experience haha.

But I really dislike white cars with normal alloy wheels. They have to at least be gray or something.

Hubcaps were mostly gone by the early 90's. But 15 inch wheels were still considered a luxury.

The other thing that ruined black wheels for me was all the riceboys in the late 90's who put black Rotas on their Teg's and Civics.....even when their kit and paint job weren't finished yet (and never got finished).

Oh and all the dipshits who roll around in retired police cars, with black steelies, trying to pace people on the highway and scare them.
