BMW builds high quality cars

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to share with you all a few photos of my 328i, which I have now owned for 5 years. I have 77,000 miles on this baby, and I drive it every day. Despite that, the car still looks brand new. That's just one of the things I love about BMWs. I've seen so many other cars that look really nice when they are brand new, but within a couple of years, the lack of quality of the materials begins to show by the car's quick deterioration.

As much as people complain - they really do.

I'm the first and only BMW owner in my entire 'social' group (friends, family etc). Everyone thinks my '08 335 is more like a '12/'13.

Nice car BTW!

I just got the LCI Halogens for my 08, and it looks brand new! Your car looks very clean. Always got to dress the tires!

Yes people complain a lot on here but remember that's what people do online. You come here to find answers to problems not compliment how awesome your vehicle is.
Great ride OP. I respect the way you respect your vehicle! #soklean

That's one difference between German cars and Japanese or others. I recently saw 2007 S8 with 290k that looked like new, compare that to 2002 Hyundai that was rotted to hell at 80k miles

Beautiful ride, I really like Platinum Bronze. It's kind of an uncommon color. I agree with the car's holding up also. Mine has fairly high mileage for an '08 and it cleans up very nicely. The only wear item that I'm not too happy with is the peeling around the window switches caused by the previous owner.

BMWs are high quality cars but i'd argue that everything put the crappiest cars out there can be maintained to look like new even after 5 years of driving

That looks really nice. I know what you mean too. I have an 06 that can clean up nice. I just need to get the polisher out and get rid of some slight swirl marks.

Drove a 2002 BMW a friend owned years ago and understood then it was a quality car. My first repairs on an E30 showed me how well it was constructed. Doing a glove box removal for something I was doing I looked at the tubular steel and the quality of the welds, all hidden foreever from an owner. Wow very nice and I could see how this would contribute to structural strength.
Never looked back since.

When I brought mine home, it was a lease return, and the car looked great overall, but after some elbow grease put into it (wash, clay bar, wax, full detail), it looks brand new. The only thing that is bothering me now is the rims. The clear coat has come off on parts of the rims, so I'm thinking of getting them re-finished, or just get new rims.

Compared that to my Subaru...I love Subies, but their paint is thin, and the sheet metal is a much thinner gauge, so it dings easily, and the paint chips easily. At 15k miles, it was already riddled with pock marks on the front facia and bumper.

4 yet old e92 here. People still think my car brand new. Parts hold up so well in my first BMW.

It's mostly due to the fact that if you buy an expensive car you're more likely take care of it better. It's all in the owner and how they maintain it. My 5 year old Accord looked brand new the day I handed it down to my brother.

Go on any car enthusiast forum and most cars will be properly maintained and in excellent condition no matter the age.

Same here people at work ask me all the time how I can afford my bmw and how it looks so nice too. Im like honestly your new camry is more expensive then mine. I do tell them though you better take care of them and keep money on side cause if you dont eventually you will drop 1k easy depending on model.

But yes bmw's quality on paint and materials is not easily beat even my E46 I used to have at 13 years old still looked very nice for its age.
