How long till aftermarket amp turns off using remote wire in HIFI system?
Just wired up my amp and notice that it stays on after I shut down the car. I have the HIFI system and I tapped into the thin black wire, in the amp harness, to use as my remote wire. I believe these cars take a bit for that to shut off right? I can't tell because as soon as I get near my car with the key and open the trunk things start coming on. I don't know, maybe I'll just lock myself in the trunk and wait a while to see if it goes off

I have a wagon so I could see the amp with the cover off.

If you lock the car it stays on about a minute or two . If you don't it can be up to 30 minutes. The car draws .5 amp when awake if its unmodied but like aftermarket amps. This is why they tell people that are experiencing depleted battery problems to lock the car . |

Just leave the trunk open and don't open or close any additional doors. Keep the key close by but don't press anything. Just wait and read your phone or something. It will turn off in about 2 minutes.
