Bmw performance exhaust..... Where to install??

I just received my PE from FedEx and am in need of a shop to install it. Due to it being Saturday, I thought that I would give my local dealer a call(BMW of ft myers) to see what quote they could give me. They told me that they would do it for $680 and that they would need a whole day to do it.

So the question I have is, is my SA smoking crack, and if anyone has any suggestions on where to go in SW Florida.

Search the yellow pages for muffler and exhaust shops. Just find a reputable one, it doesn't have to be BMW-specific.

$680 and a whole day? Sounds like they're trying to build you one from scratch....

If you have a jack, jack stands, and some decent tools just order these 2;
Exhaust Cutting Tool
Exhaust Removal Tool

And knock it out at home.

I had an indy shop right down the street install mine for me. They charged $210 for the install which didn't bother me too much seeing as how my dealer was quoting me somewhere in the neighborhood of $400.

Shop the dealers. Mine quoted me $210 and it took them about 2 hrs.

I guess it will have to wait until Monday. I have a couple local shops close to where I work that I will stop by during the week. I knew that my dealer was trying to screw me.

My BMW dealer charged me $220.
$680 is a complete rip off.

When I had mine installed, my dealer only charged an hour of labor which was $145.

That's what I tried to tell the guy. I've read the PDF on the install and there's no way it could take more than 1.5 hours with the proper tools. He told me that adjusting the muffler was a super hard job and took a couple of hours.

I've had terrible service at my local dealer, this was kind of expected

e90 is bolt-on and e92 requires more work. Take it to a good muffler shop and it should cost less than $100. I would say it takes about an hour or so to get it installed.

Just do it yourself man! I did downpipes in my garage twice with homemade wooden ramps and basic tools.

I've had the best customer service of all dealerships in Florida at BMW of Sarasota....never had any work done out of warranty though so I don't know the prices, but i would give them a call.

I guess on Monday I will call around and get an Indy shop to do the install. Sarasota is a little far
(1-2hrs) to go and I have a busy schedule for next week.

If anyone can reccommend a shop near me I would greatly appreciate it. I will update when I get some more info, thanks for the quick replies!

God I hope you laughed hysterically at them...and I would have told them off, that is just insane. It takes about an hour and a half at most. My dealer did mine in about that time for $130.
