Need 4 new tyres or but reps and tyres? Advice needed plz.

My car (335i e90 m-sport manual) has just been for an mot and passed except I need 4 new tyres (I have 18" mv3 alloys on it).
Was thinking do I :-

1. Just replace the tyres with budget (nankang ns-2 £350 or continental contact 5 £600) depends what I want to spend.

or

2.Buy some reps with tyres for around the £800-1000 mark and sell my current alloys on to recover some of the cost.

After some advice on best tyres if I go that way and also how much I could realistically get for my good condition mv3 alloys (no tyres) if I go option 2.

all advice welcome cheers guys

Good tyres always for me. Budgets are not an option imo.

Tyre choice...y can close yr eyes and pick amongst conti 5ps, goodyear assy 2, or michelin ps3. Think the michelins as a bit more expensive tho

I'm happy with my Avon ZZ5's

Vredestein are getting to a similar price to the premium brands..

Falkens or Humho's always get my vote. Sensible money for what are good tyres.

Can't think what size you'd want, but here's a typical 18" example.

I've had Kumho's the last few years, and I can't fault them. I deliberately tried to destroy the set on my 528 at the Ring one year, as they were looking close to worn out anyway, and they held up really really well!

I've got Falkens on the new rims, as that was all Mark had in stock at the time - he didn't have the Kumho ones.

I know lots of people say the newer Nankang's are ok, but trouble for me is that all I remember was when they first came out and they probably single handedly spawned the expression "ditch finders". For that reason, I'd never buy them.

good tyres should always be part of the budget considerations when buying and running a performance car. 335i (well... any performance BMW) running on budget tyres is just asking for trouble IMHO.

As mentioned don't buy budgets.

I've running Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2s and they're pretty good, not that expensive either.

You could also look for a used set of wheels and tires.

If you don't want to go for more espensive brands like michilin, check out falken tires, had them before on my bm, there decent.
Would say kumho aswell but haven't had any experience with them, maybe someone on here has.

Falken, Goodyear, my vote.

Or! Do what I done an pick up a set of 4 reps with decent tires, for a good price.
In which if your planning on changing your rims anyway and haven't got a big budget, then this is the best way for you mate.

Think im going to get some reps from ******** prob go for :-

BBS CH gunmetal
CSL gunmetal
or m359 1m competition

And get tyres myself

Also how much would a set of mv3 sell for rims only (there going to pay for the tyres in effect)
