Need Help, sway bars...

I have a 2011 335d m sport, I'm doing aftermarket way bars, Eibach sway bars are 28mm front and 15mm rear, solid bars, non adjustable, H&R sway bars are 27mm front but the rear bar is 20mm, solid bars, non adjustable, 5mm more than the Eibach, both bar brands are for my application, which rear should I get and why do you think their is such a big difference in the rear sized bar when they are both for the same application, thanks for any advice...

The Eibach site says theirs are tuned for their springs, which would be stiffer than stock, whereas the description on the H&R site seems to indicate they can be thrown on a stock car...so they might be going thicker to account for softer spring rates.

I would do sway bars last... Adding the rear bar and you will loose grip with your open diff.

Agreed. If a rear diff isn't likely in your future, maybe stick with an OEM xi/E93 rear bar and one of the M3 sway bars for the front.

I would rather just do the front anyway. I don't really want to mess with the rear bar, the rear bar on the 335d m sport is actually like 13 mm it's smaller than the 335d non sport bar. So I'll have a 27mm up front and a stock 13 mm bar in rear. Seems like a big difference from frt to rear.

It's all relative...when it comes to sway bars and suspension in general, the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts.

What you're trying to do isn't exactly revolutionary. The info of every combination of parts imaginable is out there. It just depends on what your goals are and what you hope to accomplish.

I disagree. All that does is decrease front traction and induce more understeer.

Not on this car. I have the same diameter but the stiffer front bar up front on mine with BMW kit, but this bar is tuned to work with the different spring and shock rates.

I did a hotchkis set up and the car understeered miserably. I put back on stock front with the 16mm rear hotch and that balanced out nicely. When time allowed, I replaced the hotch rear with an h&r rear and put the hotch back on the front. Couldn't be happier with the balane my car now has.
