Squeaking Suspension....Help
So my rears are squeaking pretty bad. When I get out of the car. Get in the car. When I push down on the car to test the suspension.
I read that it could be just the bushings need replacement? What can I do to pinpoint exactly what's wrong with it. I don't mind taking things apart (to an extent) to see. Reason I ask is I have extended warranty that covers the Control arm, torsion bar, ball joint, wheel bearings, and torsion bushings. I rather not take it to the stealership and have it be a different problem and then they charge me $140 just to tell me what's wrong with it. If it's not covered under warranty, I'd rather just do the work myself. Anyway to know exactly what's going on?

Ok so I just realized that it's not the suspension components. It only squeaks when I engage the e-brake. So something to do with the brakes. Thoughts?

Could be the ebrake scraping against the inside of your rotor hats. Happened to me when I installed new rotors. Had to take the rotors off and "spin" the teeth on the ebrake to tighten it so that it had clearance after the rotor were installed. My rotors were also scraping against the dust shields but that's another story

Lucky, my squeak is so bad it's embarrassing.. but i believe it's my lower control arm bushings perhaps subframe bushings (?).. parked, i rock the car back and forth and it'll squeak..
OP? you say it's your brakes? parking brake? i'll have to investigate that as well.. just funny it does it driving and going over bumps. i have an auto, and never used my hand brake in the month I've had the car so far.. |
