Boost gauge and warranty question..

I'm currently running a JB3 and DCI on my car and kinda want a boost gauge to monitor my boost or any leaks in the future.I know that dealers can only void warranty if the part caused the problem etc etc...

But just as a dealer point if i installed a boost gauge would they be a dick about it as much as a BOV or would it be close to or less mod than a DCI? My dealer has no problem with having intakes but warned me having a BOV can void the warranty and dont prefer it.

Would getting a boost gauge be a similar mod like a BOV or a Intake and a viewing point. I really dont want to get busted with running a tune and having my warranty blow..

Thanks in advance.

Get Rixeffects boost guage, and turn off the power to the guage when u go in for service, I will almost guarantee u that it would not even be noticed...My guage when the car is off, you will never see it! It looks that OEM!!!

You don't have to have a tune to have a boost gauge, maybe the dealers logic is boost gauge = Tune.

The dealer can't blame the gauge for anything, plus you got the Magnum-Moss warranty act if they act like dicks about it.

Your warranty is not in any danger from putting in a boost gauge.

Boost gauge? Are you kidding? I left mine in and might I add, on, when I went back in for a recheck after wastegates and HPFP replacement. Then I left and came back within 300 miles with a new I-drive software issue, then again for SES light and power loss. They unpluged it first to make sure it wasn't a leak, then plugged it back in. Then they updated my software and let me know they un\plugged back my gauge.

I have the Rix vent gauge, and you have to be blind not to see it when its on, so I knew they'd see it immediately but was not worried about it. Rightly so. No complaints of any sort at all. Well they do know I have a Dinan stage II as they flashed it, so maybe they don't care. They also never blamed Dinan tune for HPFP or the wastegates. It all depends I guess, but that would be completely baseless and I doubt even BMWNA would support them on it.
