UPDATE: Well I really looked into it and even the 2 corners fit tight but lift up very easily and it looks like there is NO glue or adhesive sticking that cover seal to the bottom windshield.

So I am going to try and call BMW dealers today with the cover part # and see if they can tell me if its fixable or if I need new parts, etc..

I will report back once I find out.

well I finally called and spoke with a SA and he told me to of coarse bring it in, I ask him, will it leak?, he says bring it in, we need to look at it, I ask is it covered under cpo warranty, he says bring it in, but probably not covered.

So I ask will it leak into my car or will it leak only onto the ground and not hurt my car, he said to bring it in for them to look at.

So I dont know I still need to find a DIY or somekind of instructions to do it myself.

Man this sucks..

I would just glue it back down. Just don't use something so strong that you will never get it off again.

there is no glue anywhere or adhesive. I checked very closely and did not see anything that is supposed to hold it down, just the way the seal is concaved with the glass and when the coved is snapped down properly it looks like that will fix the seal issue.

Just sucks there is NO DIY on it, I guess I will have to pay the dealer to fix it? I mean meanwhile i will see if I can find out why it is not sitting flush, but if I cannot then I will just break out the wallet

Ive only used butyl when replacing a windshield on a older car and thats been a while to be honest. I believe you may want to check out 3M Seam Sealer Caulking Strip or 3M Seam Sealer Tape. Its possible though that the glass has shifted and that is what is causing this gap. Hopefully the dealer can diagnose this (one way or another) without charging you.

I will just take it in the next time I have the time to.

Update, Well I emailed photos to my Service manager and she said it needs to be replaced BUT the head technician there, said water cannot get into the interior from this issue but the seal should be flush with the windsheild but did not mention if it will be covered or will be on me to pay?

I am getting free loaner since I have like 3-5 other issues to get repaired while I am there anyways.

Wow Sorry for the updates guy but WOW I just got a call and I had a ton of issues that I swore would NOT be covered including this cover issue, but was just told that I will be getting a free loaner and ALL repairs will be done with NO out of pocket expenses, even told me they will waive the $50 fee for the CPO repair.

Dont know how much is true or not, but I will find out next week.

^^ One where I bought it from, AA BMW.

But I had some issues with the car since I bought it, so I think they are trying to just do right by me now. But again until I get there and see what they say, I really am only going by what they said on the phone.
