if you want an average drop think about H&R sport springs ... 1 1/2 inch in front and 1/2 inch in the rear!

Eibach Pro-Kits Progressive design give a really smooth ride. That's what I have on my E93.

When people say the kit do they mean just buy the springs? or
do they mean suspension kit?
I'm thinking of lowering my car but am I supposed to buy shocks + springs
to lower my car? (I'll be using car for 2 years should I just buy springs or shocks+springs)

When people say springs it doesn't mean the whole suspension upgrade. A whole suspension upgrade would mean Shocks, Struts, Springs, Etc.
If you jut want to lower your car get Springs, if you wont improved handling and a lower ride that you can adjust go with coil-overs. Most of us don't track so Springs are the way to go.

FYI, you don't need coilovers to track the car.

Most people cant exceed the limits of the car in stock form because their driving skill is the largest limitation. Once you exceed those limits, then start upgrading accordingly.

It's recommended to replace the shocks at the same time. Aftermarket springs have a stiffer spring rate which will wear out the factory strut quicker than the factory spring would. For this reason, you can save on labor by upgrading the springs and shocks at once.

H&R Sport is the closest match but will still be stiffer than the factory ride. The Eibach Pro Kit and H&R Sport spring are among the least aggressive suspension options. They are designed to improve handling and lower the car without being too aggressive for daily use.

Koni FSD shocks w/ H&R race springs here. Ride is stiff, comfortable and the handling is a thing of beauty.

Koni Yellows are NOT going to give you the ride quality you're looking for as they are very stiff when coupled with the H&R race or sport springs.

Eibach Pro or H&R Sport ......... the less drop, the less strain on the factory shock/struts.
