Some questions - angel lights / brake dust
Hi everyone,
Had the car about a week. Loving it... A couple of questions to the guys & gals that have been around a while (in this forum that is). 1. Is there a way you can make the angel lights (daytime lights) brighter? 2. Noticed that brake dust settles over the alloys very quickly, is that because it's so new or is that just how it is?

1. Yes, but it involves changing out the OEM rings to a brighter one, most likely a 6000k one.
2. There isn't too much you can do about it. You can smother your wheels in polish and wax every so often which will make it easier to hose of the dust, but unless you wanna pretty much eliminate the dust, you are going to need to change out the OEM pads for some dustless ones. And yes, it is just how the OEM pads are...

1. My first mod! (I don't count different tyre valve caps):
GP Thunder 8500K H8 They will change your angel eyes from yellow to a brighter white with a slight hint of blue: 2. Just clean your wheels regularly with a dry rag.

^ the coronas look neat Oz. Where do you get these in Australia? Are they difficult to fit? The standard yellow lights are a little weak

Just to clarify, that is not my car in the photo, I ordered them today.
I couldn't find any locally today so just bought off eBay, cost around $50 shipped UPS. Here is where I got the info: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130387 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39270 http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=124226

^ Those threads are BimmerPost gold mines Oz Seems $50 is a pretty good price (kind of makes me wonder why Xenon headlights are a $1000 option on new cars ).
Little bit concerned though with Xcellare's post about the difficulty of installing the new bulbs, but I haven't had a chance to look under the bonnet to survey the situation myself yet. |

do you have a coupe or a sedan?
If you have a sedan go with the LUX 5.0 or LUX 4.0's( if you like a cooler color) http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=114352 If you have a coupe then GP Thunder 7500k H8 bulb |

I shall report on the install and take photos.
Here is a comparison of the 7500 and 8500, I cannot tell the difference: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?p=95231

[/QUOTE] Xenons require ballists but it really shouldn't be any more than a $500 option IMO. Those 2 ballist would only cost less than A$80 to make in quantity. |

If you clean them with a dry rag, after a while, the clear coat is gonna be scratched to buggery...
Most people seem to be getting 6000k from what I have read... They give off a very bright white
