It that is all it does and runs in the background that is ok, just dont want it popping up on the nav.

Yea, so now my car will automatically leave sport mode for economy mode, hmm not sure I like that Idea

Yea I dont like it if we cant over ride it. But I dont think it would do that I think that if you are usually driving sporty on a certain way to work it will try to set the car up for optimal driving in that situation.

Even if this optimizes fuel efficiency, it still sucks... It's just like active steering, good for some, bad for most!

I guess it would be saving the trouble of entering a destination every morning? and then just route me based on traffic. I don't hate it. Entering the destination is basically the worst part about navigation and often I skip and use the iphone because of it.
I'm gonna have to agree with this kid...I go to school in Philly and I do a lot of driving to surrounding suburbs. There are several routes I can choose from but it would be a lot more helpful if I knew which route was fast and best for that time of day, taking in consideration weather,construction, etc. Good job BMW!

I know where I've been, I don't know where I'm going.

Why on earth do I need directions to a place I've been? Even my wife who's hopeless with directions knows how to get where she's been after a time or two. This would be like have your mother-in-law in the car...

MIL: Take a left here, son.

Son: I know where you live Ma.

MIL: I'm just telling you.

Son: I know.

MIL: Turn right into the driveway.

Son: If I made it to the driveway, I know where to turn in don't I?

MIL: Don't hit the garage.

_____

Seriously, do we need two of these in a car?

another prime example of how BMW, and all cars in general, are becoming big pieces of shit. maybe BMW should focus some of their effort into being able to out perform a friggen Nissan, and making their cars less completely fugly, than pumping millions into R&D for another POS technological gizmo that appeals to fat, lazy, stupid ass americans that took out a loan to pay for their car they could never afford otherwise.

Let me know when the Nav system can predict when my 401K will get back to 2007 levels. Should be cake - since the ignition key probably knows my portfolio (it's already told my SA everything else), it just needs to pass the info on to the Nav.

just another one of those useless gadgets. I guess the designers ran out of things to mess with. They have to earn their pay cheque somehow right?

good! even though i drive to from home to work 6 days a week, I might get lost or forget how to get there in the future....... now there is 1 less thing for me to worry about.

they should make a home version in case i forget where the bathroom is in my house.

Let the Japanese companies perfect this before the German companies even begin working on this.

I hope the programming doesn't work like this:

if(!dayOfWeek = ("Saturday" || "Sunday"))
{
if(timeOfDay<"5pm" && (wifeInCarWithYou==true))
{
IDriveAnnounceOutLoud("Are you going to the strip club again");
}
}

Very good point, it made me realize they might have been developing it for those situations where we don't bother with the nav, but you still risk ending up in a traffic jam.
