OEM vs Aftermarket Microfilter? What are my Options?

Need to replace my microfilter - what are my options? No way I'm paying my dealer $100+ to replace this (which is obsurd if you ask me).

E-mailed Tischer for a quote but I'm assuming it's going to be in excess of $40-50 after shipping minimum.

Saw the DIY where the guy used the Mann-Filter for $22.32 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001DRHMMS)

Any other aftermarket options? I checked K&N's website and it doesn't look like they make one.

Thanks for the help.

I trust Mann-Filter as they are OEM.

However I bought a Greenline filter with 'OEM quality' on ebay and it didn't fit correctly. Avoid.

Thanks for the heads up. Anyone else?

FWIW - Tisher quoted me $42.11 plus shipping.

Just get the Mann. They supply BMW so you are getting the exact same filter at half the price. No brainer. I'm on my second one without issue.

I buy that exact one on ebay, most recently about two weeks ago. If fits, works well. Its just an air filter.

I tried to buy a Fram Fresh Breeze but it was a very tight fit, so much so that the filter media started separating from the frame. STP from AutoZone works just fine for $19.99...

$22 and free 2 day shipping if you are Amazon prime, which i highly recommend. I buy everything off Amazon.

I bought an STP oil filter before since it came with the $30 deal for German Castrol oil at whatever place I got it at. The "STP" filter turned out to be a Mann filter in an STP box.

Mahle and Mann are OEM suppliers. The part is exactly the same. Installed a Mahle from Pelican parts that works just perfect.

Is there a DIY page for the microfilter? Or pictures somewhere? I am pretty mechanically savvy, however, this is my first BMW.

I just called the dealer for a brake fluid flush, and was told the microfilter is "typically" replaced at the same time. I am not getting a service notification for the microfilter right now though, only the brake fluid. If I can get one for $25, and people say it is easy, I've got no problem doing it on my own, in fact I'd prefer it.

Lastly, how do I reset the timer for it so I don't get a notification? Thanks.

Here's the DIY

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=226431

To reset the timer, you hold down the Odometer trip reset button, and scroll down to the Cabin filter option (see pic in Post# 15 in the DIY.)
