Anyway, 997 turbo is jus amazing........ the technology used in it is so sophisticated and futuristic....+ they could have made it faster but then it would have eclipsed carerra gt ...

And another thing...7_227....interested in racing a corvette 08'(6.2 auto v8)? I want to know how it goes against the procede! My friend has it ...maybe we can meet up and race...
Sure why not..

Stock, our 335i have tiny turbos so after about 115, we're struggling unless we change out the turbos...

And who really compares stock vs stock. Modify the porsche and it'll be even quicker and faster.

There's always someone faster.

I just wished I hadn't put miles on it and kept it in great condition. Some are now selling for more than they were new.

And yes, I do have an E92 335i.

No it isnt, because it still had the claimed 480hp

The P400 mode is a different thing. In the M5 every car produced is 507 hp, just as they claimed, so is the 997tt with 480hp, but in the M5 you can reduce the power down to 400hp if you didnt need that extra 100hp for daily driving. But in the porsche each car comes with 480hp, and if you get the optional sport package your gonna get an optional sport button, which not every1 has btw, and if activated adds 0.2 bar (2.9 psi) of boost for 10 sec.

EDIT:

"Maximum torque is a phenomenal 620 Nm, rising to 680 Nm with the overboost function in the optional Sport Chrono Package Turbo. Thanks to VarioCam Plus and the new turbocharger system, all of that torque is fully available between 1,950 and 5,000 rpm." Porsche.com

Top end HP doesn't change though.

From Porsche.com
If you see from Porsche's engine dyno you'll see that both the HP and TQ is up by ALOT! from 2-3k rpm to 5k rpm and that means the world. With the over boost function on the Turbo is night and day in performace, almost like a instant chip to the car. Trust me friend, I drive it everyday. If only the car had the over boost function, it would have SMOKED, YES SMOKED, the 335 from the get go.

Bro....camon...911 turbo is still a monster ...Anyway....chrono package is too darn expensive for a 10 sec boost.....It was a good decision you made, not to get it....you can chip it by some other company.....maybe then you can produce your target of above 500hp.

First of all, I'd like to say that I'm just trying to educate some of the people here on what a 997Turbo really is and what the over boost function really is. Since I have the car and have had well over 10 911s and many more Porsches in the past, I think I have the right and experience to do so. Secondly, the Sport Chrono Turbo is not expensive at all! Around 1-2k depending on country. Also it is a function that not only increases torque, but increases throttle responds as well. My target for now is 700hp before spring.

These threads are so funny. LMAO! I run a 12.6@113 in my Z4M and my Procede 335i can barely hang with the M. Maybe they will be dead even when my V2 Comes in. And all I know is my M got Murdered by a stock 997tt...

I always owned BMW's and always will. I will never buy a porsche, but some of you need to wake up...

shiv just ran 12.39 @ 116.8 with a 2+ 60 foot, how do you figure that will be dead even with your z4m?

That explains your biased talk. Nobody is hating the 997 my friend, I love that car, if I was offered one instead of my 335i I'll take it instantly, and I never said the overboost function is not that functional ! That function makes the difference in winning or losing against a C6 Z06 !

I was just explaining how it is not the same as the P400 mode in the M5 that’s all.

Why all the hate, our cars are only from the 3-series range in the BMW, not even an M, I created this post just to share with you guys how impressed I was when I hang with that 997 monster for a few seconds with only a chip, not to bash it !

Peace!

If your M is stock, then im sorry to be the one to tell you this, but your 335i is slow.

Maybe it's cuz you dont drive the 3 much.

I raced many Z4 M coupes over here, 2 of them are my friends, one stock the other has a SS catback, and my car beats them every time. And believe me the guy with the SS drives a manual better than any1 I've seen, The way he drives his coupe is F******* crazy, Im always impressed by his driving skills

EDIT: Forgot to mention that the Z4M with the SS exhaust is head to head with my car up to 100mph, that's when my car starts pulling away.
I'll be glad to capture the race on video for you guys when I have the time.
