Is yours an Lci model? What width are the wheels?

You might be ok at ET27 with the right tyre choice.

5mm is a lot of metal to take off the wheel hub.

Pre LCI, wheels are 9.5j I think. I don't like the stretched 235's that are on them, need more grip running 520lb-ft.
It's not the wheel hub, its the mounting face on the wheel that contacts the hub I was referring to with regards to skimming.

Yeah, I meant the wheel centre, still even if you could machine it, 5mm is a lot of metal to take off it, you'd be getting towards the tapered bolt seats and its only the wheel metal behind the bolt heads that holds the wheel on at the end of the day.

ET27 is only the same as standard ET37 with a 10mm spacer and that works ok with 9J rims AFAIK.

I run LCI with ET37 8.5J/255 and with 10mm spacers so thats like ET17 on a pre LCI, no rubbing, but I gather the coupe has a bit less arch room than E90/91??

Yeah, I have owned a pre LCI e90 in the past and it had caverns for rear arches.
To me they look like they would rub if the tyre was flush with the wheel lip, but 90% of the time it's just me in the car so I'd put up with a rub now and then when there is a passenger. Thanks for your info so far, and like you said maybe someone else can put this issue to bed My runflats are nearly eaten up on the rear, need these new wheels on soonish.

I'd agree with Doughboy,skimming the inner face of the wheel is never really a good idea,and 5mm is a lot for the reasons DB has mentioned.

With an offset of ET27 a 255/30 tyre would be better than a 235,which is crazy, unless of course the 'stretched' look is your thang.

A 255/30 tyre will rub,but only with rear seat passengers,heavy loads and undulating surfaces,so if you're prepared to tolerate that,I'd go down that route.

Alternatively,rolling the rear arches is better and much,much safer than any machining of a wheel,so you could consider doing that:

That sounds fine to me, I was never a fan of reducing the tyre width, it's just how they came. Thanks for the input

Hi, I'm new to the forum, and looking to purchase a set of 313 rep wheels. But the ones I have found have an et40 and are 10 mm wider than my current wheels. Could someone please help with firstly would the offset be alright? And also could I swap my current tyres 225 and 255 onto these wheels? Thanks, sorry if its slightly off topic it's just I cannot open my own thread untill I have three posts. Thanks for any info
