The coupe we tested has 19s vs. 18s on the sedan. That could account for the coupe being slightly less quick.

Kind of like UTQG tire numbers, pretty much use at your own risk and of no use to compare one brand to another.

Say my car was rated 29 highway in 2007. Just because BMW reports a different (lower) number to the EPA doesn't mean that somehow as soon as their report was completed and someone in Munich clicked submit on a web page, my mpgs went down. They didn't change at all, it's the same car.
The EPA changed their testing system in 2008, and most car's mileage numbers went down. The N55 is more efficient than the n54 in your 2007.

And I thought Canada was as bad

I think we're second to the US in terms of overall acceptability if you have a high income. Not counting Switzerland which would be better no doubt.

Aus seems as bad as Europe.

Love the ending statement...

"... the sticker swells to $53,525. That price will plant a person in a lot of cars, from a sexy Audi S5 to a boisterous Corvette, but there’s nothing that matches the blend of refinement and performance provided by a 335i—two turbos or one."

I couldn't agree more!

Brand new M3 here is like $187,000 on the road.

I can't wait to leave this fucked up country and go to the USA! They dick us for doing 3km/h (less than 2mph) over the speed limit too.
If it makes you feel any better, some states (like VA) you get nailed for 2mph above speed limit too. Oh and Every mile above 90mph is a mandatory day in jail, and there is such a thing as $3000 tickets.

Not as bad as Aussie but not that great. Every year you pay about 5% personal property tax on the value of your car. But I am also sure, they use that huge tax on cars on services we don't have via the government here too, so the gap is smaller than it may appear at first. Its a choice of what to charge you for. Maybe your home property taxes are lower or none existent, so you buy a home here, you can afford much less car when you factor in taxes etc. Maybe you have free health care over there? Here you choose what type of health insurance you want. You can take your chances, or pay through the nose for a good policy. Either way, its unrealistic to compare prices like apples to apples. What I do think we have here in aces is more freedom and choice of what to spend our $$$ on, while over there, its mostly dictated by the taxation laws.

So you are forced to give up having a swanky ride for some other benefit you may or may not care as much for.

Comfortable, sport, elegant, wild, 4 seats, a trunk and a great engine that make it damn fast. (under 5 sec. is many "want to be" territory)

For the money, what you get, I think is still the best car you can drive.

It must be a total mindf*ck for tourists from these countries to come to the US and see cars like ours littering the streets. I drive down rodeo dr to get to my office everyday and my car gets so many stares (even with the much nicer cars all around me) and I'm always wondering why people even turn to look at a stock 3. I met this one girl who was from new zealand who couldn't get over my car as if it was incredibly rare or something. We have it too good here with our pricing.

It's actually the other way around in countries outside the US. Our cars are alot cheaper here in the state that you try to consider one of these out of the country, you might as well go all out. In china, the streets are full of 7 series, S-class and other nice cars. When I was there, literally, every stop light, at least one of these vehicles which go for well over the cost of a new Ferrari f430 in the states yet u don't, at least I dont see an Ferrari at every light.

Yes China has centralize healthcare but we all know how government programs don't work, healthcare in China is an absolute joke

The EPA changing its test has no effect on my mpgs. Yes, the N55 is more efficient than the N54, it's also more expensive to buy, cheaper to produce, and has standard equipment removed from the vehicle itself.
