Why hanst anyone cut up the n52 manifold into fake ITB

Philosophical question really

In the summer 2012 we saw videos of n52 working with out Manifold and Throttle body, and a UK racer has adapted a custom ECU & e36 ITB to the car

So what is stopping anyone to consider this radical idea:
Name: n52 fake itb.jpg

Lets talk about this

For starters, the cost to make would buy you a 335i.
Stand alone ecu
Valvetronic delete set up
Throttle body set up
Throttle set up
Machining
Ect...

Cost and the fact that the n52 uses the valves to control what a traditional throttle body used to. You'd be changing all kind sof stuff and need a standalone ECU like ^ said. Pointless unless racing and have tons of funds.

i think he is talking about cutting up the stock single or 3 stage front section of the manifold and turn it into more of a ITB style manifold without
the ITB.

stock 3 stage already very effcient at feeding air into those individual runner, so i guess even if you cut it up, you will probably gain a little more top end compare to 3 stage, and no more mid and low end power.

im not talking about using a race ECU, that is too much cost for the n52

Im just wondering if we can fake an ITB with our stock one stage manifolds, the ones we are all replacing

It seems possible, just needing to figure out where to place the TB out of sight & other sensors so that no lights show up.

Can you, I'm sure it's possible. You'd need to create some type of velocity stack set up similar to the s50 euro or s54. Honestly though without deleting the valvetronic and vanos then running custom cams there is no point other than aesthetics. The stock "throttle body" has enough area for the amount of flow anything the n52b30 needs in a stock former (no internal changes, only bolt ons)

Not without extensive ecu reprogramming. either way, you'll need fabrication, and custom programming and tuning. You can't even do it on a regular, non-valvetronic car without fab and custom tuning.

not cost effective at all.
