328i Borla exhaust

My 328i is at Borla Performance for a new cat-back exhaust. Should be completed in a couple of weeks. Can't wait!

Its a BMW Performance Exhaust (PE), it just the muffler and they go for about $1000 give or take. Probably one of the highest quality/sounding exhausts out there for our cars tho

Thanks for the information! I had a Borla on my Mini R56. It sounded awesome. Borla currently doesn't have a system for the 328I. They are using my car as the test mule. I can't wait to hear it and hopefully, I'll see the performance gains as I did on my Mini! this is supposed to be a full cat-back system.

There won't be any performance gains really.

I got 5% (8 hp more) on my Mini and on my son's Camaro he got 20hp. SO I am curious to see what I will get with my system.

there have been endless tests on this forum about exhaust systems equaling hp/tq gains and so far no exhaust system on these cars have shown anything substantial. People mostly just buy them for the ear candy

I am doing for ear & eye candy as well as performance and knowing that it will be the last system I will ever have to buy for my 328I.

Yes they have - headers are 20 odd hp and cat backs are 5-10 easy

People don't usually do cat back, just axel back

less weight equals faster car, BMW factory systems are porky as hell, if he shaves 40-50 pounds off the car the butt dyno will think it is faster hence why people think there are decent gains..my magnaflow cat back is on the way now for the 330i, I am also deleting the 2ndary cats as well, that should yield something plus about 50 pounds

I was just told they did the first drive with the system on the car. Borla said it sounds deeper & throatier than the stock system. Not too loud, but it will get louder after the break in period. Borla said they will be doing a dyno run with the new system. I will let you know when I hear back from them.

Any word on pricing? General avail.? And that it'll fit a 325i?

nothing beats the sound of an aftermarket exhaust on subaru's boxer engine IMO. For engines smaller than v8s that is.

Very interested how this exhaust system plays out with sound and gains

Sounds great, and thanks for being the test subject on this one, but did they do a before dyno? That's always the hardest part. Anyone can say it feels faster/sounds faster/butt dyno faster or even show a "greater that presumed stock" dyno after the fact, but unless you do a BEFORE MOD and then AFTER MOD dyno, then it's all just speculation, which this forum is full of already

Hope it turns out sounding and looking sweet though!

The video says it will be available in October 2012!

Did they mention any pricing and compatibility with e90s and e92s?
