BMW PE Exhaust Question

I feel as if my exhaust tips stick out a bit much. What can I have an exhaust shop/tuner do to safely modify it to make it shorter?. Maybe an inch or so..

Has anyone else with the PE exhaust had this 'issue'?

Thanks!

yeah you can easily have a muffler shop trim it and actually change the angle to where you like it. It should be pretty cheap too so don't pay to much.

Were you able to find out if yours sticks out the same? Do you have a pic? I haven't seen too many PE exhaust/non Mtech E90s.

Thanks!

Do you have a stock OE bumper? I feel as if Mtech bumpers 'frame' the exhaust a bit better from the side profile. Obviously, I'm nitpicking.. lol

Great! Have you done this to your PE exhaust? Will the shop be potentially cutting into any vital internals in the exhaust? Which part of the exhaust do they actually shorten?

Thanks!!

Your car looks good! Although I couldn't tell from your pics or video, your tips look a bit nicer 'fit' than mine. Could it be the LCI difference? lol. Do you have a side profile pic by any chance?

Thanks!!

Buy some Dimisa tips, get a local shop to hack em off and slap said tips on. Problem solved.

I think you are just over analyzing it. I have pics of my 330i with both standard bumper and Mtech bumper and it looks identical to yous. Check it:

if you dont cut them off and replace them with DiMisa Tips, then you can have a shop slide them in a inch or so for around $30

exhaust pipes that are single walled and stick out with a stagger are cool if your riding a Harley, but it just wasnt my style.

Loved the exhaust, wasnt happy with the tips until i slid them in, then cut them off and replaced them all together.i

those Dimisa tips, do they cut your old tips and weld on the new ones? also, does the muffler need to be taken on off during the process or they can do it while your car is sittin on the lift? how much was instalation? i am just interested in ordering them and want to get familiar with the process. Thank you!

they cut your old tips off and weld the new ones on. takes about 20 minutes. everything stays in place

PS, save your old tips, i had a few PMs asking for mine, but i threw them out

Thanks for the input! I think it looks great from the top and from the passenger side, but the driver's side looks a bit sticking out (nitpicking obviously)

Good advice. Thanks! I actually prefer the straight cut of the PE tips to the Dimisa, but I think they look great either way!

Your car looks great! The Mtech really frames the PE very well (better than OE bumper, imo). I just might be over analyzing it!

Could be. I got mine installed at GMG http://gmgracing.com/ I hope they know what they were doing!

I think I might consider shortening them up around an inch or so. So clearly there is no risk of damaging internals of the PE by chopping the tips off. (I remembered the OE exhaust had valve internals near the tips).

Your car is the epitome of OEM +! Your photo angles are slightly higher than mine, but your car looks great!
