Did i overpay?

2 months ago my fiancé and I bought a CPO 2008 328i with 38700 miles on it. The car is fully loaded, nav, extended leather to the doors, Dakota brown leather, sapphire black, heated seats, power seats for passenger and driver, CA, upgraded power package, led lighting, etc etc. Only thing it was missing are xenon lamps. Oh and a 335 engine. Hah.

After tax, tag, title, interest, and principle we were out the door at 31000 (in California) car is an n51 if that makes a difference.

Did we over pay?

TMV on the car with options described is 31000

But I don't think that includes tax tag and title?

never a good question to ask, it'll leave you feeling anything but good whenever you get behind the wheel. you've had your e90 for two months now. my advice to you is, if your BMW makes you happy, then enjoy it, because it has the potential to last for a very long time with the proper maintanence and care.

congrats on your purchase, and welcome to the e90 family!

I only have one similar sale to compare to and this one makes it sound like you overpaid. My best friend just picked up a lease trade-in CPO'd '08 335i black on black coupe with every option minus active steering with 24k miles on it for 34k. The car was also unbelievably flawless down to no curb rash or even a scrape under the front bumper. This was in newport beach.

It's always going to be hard to tell with used. Maybe you paid more than someone else could have? Maybe I could have gotten my car for less too? Who knows. Dealer needs to make a little money off sales though. Depends on what your trade value was.. what fees there were.. condition of car.. what it's past life was like.. what time of the month it is..

With new you can base price off invoice/msrp and work from there. Then we could tell you if you overpaid

I got a CPO 07 328i coupe with every option and 39k miles for 25k OTD. I've seen very clean 335i's for what you paid. Seems like the wrong time to be asking this question.

Someone's always going to get a better deal than you. I thought I did good with my car but came on here and saw people doing much better. It's a crapshoot. Enjoy the car and don't think about this as noted.

But i had to fly to reno to pick it up.

I overpaid for my STI and Camaro most likely. With the Camaro I just didn't know much about negotiation. With the STI I jumped on it because it was in rare stock form. I wouldn''t say you overpaid like crazy for it.

Hmm, you all make sense. I don't think we over payed. You have to keep in mind, Principal on the car is only 26,000. So basically we only paid 26,000, the tax, tag, title, and interest (2.9%) make up the 4,000 difference. From what i've seen its right in line. Edmunds says the CPO TMV of this car is 31,108 with all the options we have. I feel good about our price, my fiance however thinks the TMV price includes the Interest Tax tag and title, i told her it doesnt.

Are you guys really getting 335's for 26,000?

27-28,000$ would be the correct amount in my opinion, with that price you could have prob scored a 335i with alil more miles!

Private party is hardly the same as buying CPO with original Bumper to Bumper intact. When your Bumper to Bumper expired so did your warranty, i guess i paid the extra for the CPO, which im happy to do.

I agree, The low miles werent really a huge factor for us as we live in the middle of San Francisco (downtown) and neither of us Drive to work. I wanted to get the 335, i was just concerned with true cost of ownership. 335's seem to break a lot easier, could be because they are a hell of a lot more fun! So if I walked out with my principal being 26,000 I got in right where I should have for a Certified Pre-Owned car.

Yeah, we originally wanted the is250, but stopped by the BMW dealer on our way to buy the Lexus. And well, as you all know, after driving a BMW youve already decided not to buy anything else. We drove it off the lot after 5 hours of negotiation. They originally wanted 31000 before tax tag and title. We whittled them down to 26,000 it took awhile and alot of playing games, even leaving for lunch. But we eventually got it for exactly what I was willing to pay. We put 4,000 towards tax tag and title, so we financed 26,000. California rapes you on the tax tag and title. Bastards.

That's a pricey tax tag and title. I thought mine was bad!
