If you want some wheel spinning, you basically don't touch the DTC button at all, and turn on the Procede?

Or you press the DTC once, so BMW's system allows some wheel spin, and then Procede kicks in when you want, and it adjusts boost pressure, not throttle blade position.

I guess I also don't understand fully how BMW's press-the-DTC-button-once system works. I thought it allowed for wheelspin completely?
as i understand if you want wheel spin keep DTC button 5 sec untill it disables both DSC and DTC

Do we need to send you another email or will it just go to the website?

Hi guys,
I have another v5 beta release (5-25) ready to go. Just waiting on some feedback from a few people I've sent it out to this morning. Got a few old features/maps back

What’s new/back:
-7DCT maps now available again.

-Upgraded Turbo maps now available again. If you are running early production date RB turbos with the misadjusted wastegates, reduce boost gain to 30% or else you will overboost/oscillate/get throttle closure. Later production date RB turbos can run default gain settings. These upgraded turbo maps should only be used for full turbo upgrades (TD, ASR or RB). Those running compressor only upgrades (Helix, AWD, EPL, etc,.) turbos should run the standard turbo maps.

-Procede Traction Control now active again. This system works independently of the factory traction control system. It is NOT a stability control system. It will only reduced boost pressure in the event of power-induced wheelspin. It does not apply any brake force to any wheel so it will not prevent you from losing control of your car. But when it comes to putting down the power under boost, it is VERY EFFECTIVE at moderating wheelspin-- even with all the BMW traction/stability nannies are disabled. This does NOT mean that you have to disable the BMW nannies. Procede TC will work properly with any BMW DSC/DTC setting. Default is 100% (off). To enable, lower this value. The lower the value, the more sensitive the Procede will be to traction loss. A suggested starting point is 30%. If you like a bit more wheelspin, try 50% or thereabouts.

-Slightly revised boost DC mapping for all maps. This should resolve the underboost code that a 2 people reported during light throttle acceleration. If anyone still sees this code, it is because your wastegates are soft/loose. to fix, go ahead and raise boost dc from the default value of 45% to 50%.

-A small update to CANshift (for 6MTs only) has been implemented. Now more boost will be maintained between shifts (if you shift quickly enough!)

-As with the 5-20 maps, autotuning is still only active in “read only” mode. Leave this turned ON. It will not adjust boost/timing automatically. It will only update aggression level.

-The Baro Offsetting user adjustable now activates PWM meth. It will be renamed in the next release version of the User Software. So unless you are running our PWM meth kit, you must leave this feature disabled (set to 0). As with running in regular non-PWM meth mode, make sure you put a meth flow value in the Injection Mode user adjustable. Without this, you wont be able to switch to Map 4 (progressive meth mapping mode). For those not running meth, leave Injection Mode value set to 0.

With everything else sorted out, we are very very close to fully activating autotuning again. Hopefully within the next several days. The new logic is much smarter than the old logic and works beautifully with DIC. At this point, v5 DIC it will officially become non-beta.

Cheers,
shiv

Traction control can instantly pull ignition timing to lower torque so that the wheels will hook up when slip is detected. (Proceed)

DTC is more about braking to keep the car pointed in a straight line. It does kick on when you over spin the wheels, but it's main purpose to keep the car going in the right direction. (BMW)

What Shiv was saying is that the two different forms of traction control/DTC do not interfere with one another. Meaning that you can leave DTC on and have the Proceeds traction control on at the same time. Theorectically if Shiv's is turned on the BMW DTC may not have to kick in at all, even though it's still active. Make sense?

Shiv,

Can you elaborate on this feature? The Baro Offsetting user adjustable now activates PWM meth.

The baro offsetting adjustable field is now used to turn on/off the PWM meth. It will be re-labeled accordingly when the next procede software comes out

The baro offsetting feature was disables a while back because it was deemed unnecessary given how we control boost. So the user adjustable entry was begging to be put to better use. So now it enables/disables pwm meth and will be renamed accordingly with the next software revision. This only applies if you are running the procede's pwm logic and not an external control a la HSF3. Another reason you should make the change

Thanks Shiv, I plan on getting the update soon and ditching the HSF-3. I'm just waiting for Fred at ER to get my new intercooler up-pipe made with the x2 bungs (it's going to be as close to the IC as I can get).

The TC setting is purely driver dependant. Nothing really to do with hardware.

Hey Shiv,

Do you have a recommended setting for 3.46 final drive LSD equipped AT6? Should I just leave at 100% and let the LSD do all of the work?

Shiv,

Quick question about the 7DCT maps, does it have persistent Sport Button activated. I recall you said a while back that it was easy to do and it would be included later in a 7DCT specific map.

I find myself always clicking the Sport Button and cannot think of any circumstance where I would want to drive without it activated, so it would be neat to not have to click it every single time I start the car.

Thanks,
B

How are you compensating your speedo with the 3.46 diff? Is this a feature of the Procede?

The 6AT comes with a 3.46 so that shouldn't be necessary
