Helix 335i Traps a best of 113.1mph and best ET of 12.8
Figured it was worth a thread of its own. The only speed mod was the Attache`. The first run was 93 octane. Then we put in some 103 oct. and the traps went up. A 113mph trap speed is equivalent to right around 400whp. See below.

I might need glasses to look at the timeslip but correct me if I am wrong, is the far right timeslip showing a 60' of 2.4ish?
I think the car is capable of more, perhaps mid 12's. If you could perhaps make the attachemnet bigger then we could elaborate more on the runs. Good runs by the way! |

car ran 12.8@109 on pump gas with 2 gallons of 103 the trap increased to 111 then on the 3rd run 113mph. the ET's got slower(wheelspin on street tires) as the track surface got colder and the power increased from the octane.

looks like you pulled a 113 trap by rolling off the line in 1st. Shiv put down a 110 or a 111 a while back by rolling off the line. However the 12.8 is fantastic looks like a 1.9 60'. Nice job

it wasn't a roll lol more like a tire melting take off... the track was prepped horribly with the grooves coned off(for the gamblers), street tires and cold weather make for crappy 60 fts. no excuses as i wasnt expecting much out of the ET's with the street tires and track prep.

not just octane but fuel quality as well my S4 would pick up 35whp with no timing changes when running a few gallons of toluene mixed w/ 93 octane. and on the SPFWD race cars I have worked on would pick up 50+whp when running VP Import fuel over C16. as you may know if you have tuned factory engine management there is usually a base timing map this is where the car generally tries to run if a lower octane fuel is used or the ait's/coolant temps increase the timing may drop back to the low octane map. likewise if the aits and coolant temps are lower and the octane is increased the car can bump up the timing several degrees and in some cars switch to a high octane map. the difference in timing from the low octane map to the high octane map can be a swing of 10-15 degrees in some cases.

Well, see this is all a bit misleading; with the larger timeslips that you can actually see, it's obvious that the 113mph trap was with the horrible 2.4x 60ft. and 13.5x sec. ET. The decent 12.8x sec. ET was with a 109.x mph trap speed and 1.9x sec. 60ft...all very good btw. So, what's the moral of this experience...that higher octane race gas really does wonders for these cars?

Impressive. Looking forward to more info. What boost did you say you're running?
