I thought Autopia is doing only bodywork! How good is their alignment work? I have never heard alignment work feedback by Autopia from others. As long as they are inexpensive and good, I don't mind going there! |

sorry, they dont have an alignment machine...but there are plenty of shops around that area im sure they can recommend one...i just wanted to say that their attention to detail was amazing. i would not hesitate to go back for work...actually im going back to drop my car even more prolly next week and then ill have to go to an alignment place...if you can wait that long, i can see what they recommend.

Hey, whomever had their coils shipped from the States to Toronto, what kinda customs brokerage fee/duty did you get charged? I am wondering how much of an a$$ raping I will be taking.
I have no interest in having it shipped to a U.S. address... |

There is a formula to calculate the brokerage fees including the taxes. For example, the coilover is $100 (CAD), the brokerage fees would be: $100 X 0.13 canadian taxes plus UPS (standard brokerage fees around $26 - refer to their table) plus $26 X 0.08 PST of the brokerage fees tax. Therefore, the total brokerage would be $13 + $26 + $2.08 (TOTAL= $41.08) |

I would put the winter wheels on and see how they do. In the worst case, I may just buy the 2 front new (since the front stick out a little bit).

Hmmm, the rear looks a touch too low IMO. But you should just make sure the relative drop is the same as pre-drop. Some people who drop the fronts to reduce the upward rake actually screw up the car's handling dynamics.

I will let the coilover to settle first (approx. 2 weeks) and decide whether I need any adjustment.

are you putting on aftermarket wheels? wait 2 weeks. i believe you may end up raising the rear a bit...or lower the front a bit..

I am not putting aftermarket wheels for this year because I spent too much $ for this year already. So, my rears should raise a little bit up right?

im thinking so. it looks a little too tucked for oem unless you're going for the slammed look then again when the suspension settles, it may sit a tad bit lower than it is now, so possibly a raise is in the near future. choice is yours! see how it handles first these 2 weeks

Maz, mine looks almost the exact same as yours. lol - I'm gonna post up pics once it stops raining.
I forgot what he set the height to, but the dampening is set to what kw recommends. BTW, do yours make any noise? How'd you like RMP?

it makes a little noise until it settles...then when you go over bumps, you hear a pssst noise..like a turbo cause of the gas compression in the struts.
just realized your're parked on an incline maz. the front will look higher and the rear lower. take some more pics of it parked on a level flat street...should get the right idea then

I am in the process of buying a set of coilovers and have to start thinking about having a shop install them. I'm leaning toward Bimmersport though just because of my past dealings with them...
