coilover decision
Hey guys I'm thinking of getting a set of coils for my 335i e90 but i don't really know what to get. I've been looking at the sonic tuning ST1 coils and the H&R coils but cant really decide. what do you think is a better buy and better long term. i was also thinking of just spending the money and getting the kw v1 because of so many good things I've heard about them. so please give your input thank you.

I'm unbias, so I'm only going to use the three you listed. Since you up north (don't know if it snows in Jersey or not), I would rule out ST1. They are a good system, but made out of galvanized steel and would rust from the salt on the ground. The KW v1 is pretty much the same setup but made with better materials. They are great if you just want to lower your car to your liking, but you wouldn't not be able to adjust your dampening (softness & stiffness). The full solution would be the H&R only if you want to fully adjust your suspension to your likings. So in all, it comes down to your wants and needs, hope this help.

Off the top of my head, BC Racing, KW V2, and Bilstein PSS9 (maybe PSS10 if you find a sale). I'm sure there are plenty more but these are some of the popular ones on the forum. If you keep searching this section, you'll find some pretty in depth reviews.

i have BC racing and i really like them, pretty good ride and pretty well made. They are also fairly inexpensive, i upgraded my springs to swift springs and i also got the extenders for the dampening adjustment in the back and i will say they are definitely worth the extra $
But for that price range im sure there are plenty of other good suspension setups, this is just the only one i have personal experience with. Heres a quick review of them, http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=710903 |

You can get KW Street Comfort coilovers for that at **********s.
They're your best bet unless you're building a track car imho

Are you getting the coilovers for handling or looks?
If handling, consider hpa's or tc klines http://store.vacmotorsports.com/tc-k...tem-p2349.aspx http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...6&postcount=17 Some snippets of reviews here Quote:

^that! +1
i have hpa setup with 392/616 swift springs. it's a bit harsh but not annoying. handling is great and it could be comfy on freeway. if i compare the ride between that to my E70 X5 with adaptive suspension with the "Sport" on, it's not a lot stiffer than the e70, just a little more "solid" and less frequency. very minimal body roll. i had my wife and my daughter (she was 5 months old back then) sat in my car and both didn't show any discomfort. depends what kind of ride do you need, talk to Harold and he will be gladly to fit the right spec springs for you.
