Recall

Hey guys I got the letter from BMW about the recall for the electrical stuff but I'm kinda putting it off because I don't really trust the stealerships. I know probably a bad idea of waiting till something happens just wondering if there are others out there putting it off. Thanks

Why bother putting it off? If they screw something up they'll fix it. It doesn't cost anything. You'll get free coffee. You may even get a free loaner. Nothing to lose in my mind.

I picked my car up today. It seems fine.

Yeah my buddy took his car there and they put 100 miles on the car stating they needed to drive it. It's not there car so they don't care. I'm a little particular about my car but I'm getting a loaner.

I also got my free coffee and loaner, they needed 2 days since they were backed up, all is fine, plus I got to drive a new 328i for 2 days.

It's a recall for a freaking reason! If you don't get it fixed you'll put not only yourself and your family in danger, but others on the road.

Just bring your car in and tell them that you only want the recall done. Why don't you trust the dealership doing something they are forced to do? Not like you're paying anything for the recall to be done...

Some people are just anal about this. For your peace of mind fix it yourself and save yourself from getting an ulcer. It is just a car, drive them into the ground and get another one.

They put 100 miles on for the recall service, or was it in for something else? There are legitimate reasons for them to need to put miles on the car; typically they tell you if they need to do it.

As far as the recall goes, if you don't want them to do it don't take it to them. Just don't bitch when the car you care so much about bursts into flames.

Not all dealerships are bad, just do a little research and find a reputable one in your area, no sense putting that off.

Sounds like your buddy must be high on something, I doubt they would drive his car 100 miles!

just get it done and dont worry about it. By now they've prob done hundreds of them at your dealer and have the kinks worked out, the techs could prob do it in there sleep

I'm in the market for e90 and saw one weeks ago, asked the owner about the recall if it had been done and he said what battery recall? That was a red flag for me, so I didn't buy the vehicle, plus it was manual driver seat!?

Call the dealership with your VIN number in hand and they can tell you if it's been done.

There are a few threads about this already and quick answer for you is YES. I would post the link but I'm on my iPhone so search. Your notification is probably in the mail. I had my cable replaced about a month before I received my letter.
