Bulb warning light
The bulb warning light goes off intermittently, but all the bulbs seem to be working. Is there any way using the car computer to figure out which bulb is causing it?

let me guess it's your rear taillight bulbs, this is a common e9x problem, there's no fix really except to get a whole new taillight assembly, it's due to bad build of the bulb holder

I know the bulb issue affected MY 2007 but not sure if it affected MY 2008 as well. I had this issue on my 2007 but it was actually the 2nd BFD brake light bulb and not the taillight that was causing the issue (I used my BT tool to find it). The Bavarian Technic tool or INPA can both pull the code to tell you which bulb is the problem
Edit: If you determine it is the bulb holder, you can use some picks and small set of needle nose pliers to bend the contacts and tighten up the bulb fit inside the holder. No need to get a new taillight unless you can't tighten up the fit |
