I've been listening to some Cut Chemist tracks off his upcoming album, "The Audience's Listening". They are straight fire and I can't wait for this album to drop on July 11.

Add these CD's to your rotation:

Common - BE
Lupe Fiasco - Food & Liquor (when it comes out)
Chamillionaire - The Sound of Revenge

and if you are into real then go with

Devin tha Dude.

He spits real everyday stuff throughout all his CDs.

I don't like Eminem because the content of his music is bleh, but I will admit he is a good lyricist.

"hi my name is, hi my name is, hi my name is" or "im slim shady, the real slim shady, all you other shadies are not real shady, so if your the real slim shady please stand up" whats good about any of that ?!?! this subject really makes me mad.

You really don't like Eminem, I have no problem with that.
If you want a good lyricist, the best acutally, listen to Rakim. Rakim changed the rap game.

Wow, nice to hear that someone actually knows about Zion-I. I have Deep Water Slang 2.0 and Mind over Matter both on wax back in the ancient days I used to spin music in front of drugged out teeny boppers. Both are autographed, too!

It's a little hard to hear about the latest about underground groups because they don't get much airplay or even publicity relative to "pop" hip-hoppers. It's funny because I probably never would have known about Zion-I had it not been for my hip-hopper woman who likes to attend to these weird underground hip-hop events...where Zion-I coincidentally performed one night. The rappers can freestyle with ease - it's impressive.

Anybody got any more hip-hop recommendations like Zion-I, Deltron 3030, Feenom Circle, Slum Village, etc.? None of that pop hip-hop BS we hear on the radio 1,000X a day.

i listen to a lot of atmosphere. and everything else on Rhymesayers. P.O.S. Eyedea and Abilities. I like a lot of the anticon stuff, Sole "Bottle of humans" Is like one of my favorite cds of all time. I like sage francis a lot also. "a healthy distrust" Is real good. I listen to a lot of immortal technique. some people dont like him cause he is REAAAL preachy and political. But im into that. I also like dead prez if you dont care that they hate white people. I have been getting into a lot of "hip hop bands" recently. like the heiruspecs and gym class heros are both real good, and they both have like a band that makes all the beats. Murs is also real good. Soooo much good "underground" hip hop now a days
