Thanks for the comments. I'm really pleased with the results. He gave me some tips for keeping it topped up as well.
Even the girlfriend was impressed when she saw it! Was convinced she'd think it was insane to spend that on a "car wash"!

I'll get some more pics with an actual camera, was a bit of a rush yesterday seeing as it was gone 8pm by the time it was done!

If anyone is in the Derby/Notts area give me a shout and I'll send his details through if you're interested.

After the poorboys polish/glaze he used a 60% carnauba wax. I believe it was from a small firm getting started with detailing products - called Garnet Car Car. Then used a detailing spray over the top.

The finish is so smooth to touch.

Sounds ok, a local guy down my way does it for a £100 for the day. If this guy is doing it for a bit of extra cash and enjoys it he won't have charged over the odds.

A good detail makes the world of difference, job well done I say!!

I used to charge £100 for clay/wash/paint correction/wax.
I can't even be bothered to do my own car these days though, let alone someone elses!
Shame because it would help pay towards some more mods.
The downside is that it uses up half the weekend and I'm bloody knackered enough from work in the week

I used to charge double that, but agree, still cant be bothered with losing an entire weekend working on other peoples cars.

My car's never been to a body shop that doesn't leave it covered in holograms and buffer trails, but my paint is ridiculously easy to marr so YMMV. I spent most of last Saturday knocking back holograms with Menzerna Final Finish after the last body shop, then Sytner covered it in wash marring with a single wash so I've got to do it all over again now

With so much competition I would expect the prices to keep falling.
It's a bit like private hire taxiing.
A job almost anyone can do and largely out of sight of the tax man.

In addition most people would have no clue if they got VFM until some weeks later...

I bouhght a DAS-6 Pro machine Polisher a few years ago, serveral products etc and detail any new car i get, the results are amazing. I've just bought a Silver 335i so will be tackling that in a few weeks. Will remember to take pics but it's a good 2 day process to do it properly.

Your prices seem incredibly cheap.

Will I be stupid to pay my quoted prices or is that normal.
Arif, the detailing legend.
that price is really cheap. I can't see how he can make any money using high end products.

Products are a minor cost. If you know what you are doing you barely need any product. The 20 hours of his time is what costs the money imo.
