Everyone's car ok from the hail storm?

Because mine is totaled.

I have no windshields (front and back gone), glass and an inch of water in both front and back seat, and multiple 3-4" dents in every body panel, several that took the paint down to the bare metal.

I watched the whole thing happen, and there's nothing I could do about it

Just took some photos for the insurance company and I'll post them soon.

Everyone else OK?

That sucks. Where do u live. Finally we get a storm that doesnt destroy the HEB area, not like last year and the day the tornadoes hit this year. I learned this year because it caused about 5000k on my Acura last year. When i got BMW this year i made sure i had covered parking spot. Lol. This weather sucks.

I live in East Dallas near lower Greenville/Henderson area. Both of our cars are likely totaled. This is the worst day ever (I know, first world problems, but still).

I luckily just pulled in the garage before it came down. Not as much hail here in Irving, but did see some golf ball size. Shattered windows is terrible too. How big was the hail there? Sounds like it was raining rocks.

I think Plano and North Dallas were OK. My friend in North Dallas said they just got a little rain.

Grapefruit sized. It tore all the limbs from the trees on our street, and no one can get down the streets here. Even fire trucks and ambulances were having a hard time getting around. There's a photo in my previous post of one of the hailstones -- there were lots bigger than that, too.

The front yard looked like it was covered in white apples. I got video, too. I might post it to YouTube later.

Thanks. I'll have to see what the claims adjuster says. If it's totaled I'll just get another one. If not, I have a friend who sent me info on a good body shop hookup. The Challenger lost a windshield and sunroof (strangely my sunroof was OK), and has some pretty big dents, but my car seems to have taken most of the damage. I ran outside with blankets, towels, and anything I could find to cover the car as soon as I saw hail, but the hail was coming down so fast and was so big that it actually tore holes in the blankets. The worst is my back windshield -- the glass is completely gone (not shattered -- GONE, like all in the backseat) and the wiring to the brake light is all mangled. A big hailstone hit right in the center of my rear speakers, too. And as a final Fuck You from the weather gods, one big hailstone came down directly in the middle of my hood roundel and crushed it. I may or may not have cried on the phone with the insurance company when I was filing my claim...

DAMN! sorry that happened to you. We just got a little rain and I am just 5 miles west of you in the Medical District. Good thing I have a parking garage. My IS350 last year was caught in a hailstorm and cost 5k. =/ GL

Actually I might have seen your car a couple weeks ago. =)

Thanks. Yeah it seems everyone in 75214 has a nearly totaled car. The worst part is that I do have a garage, but I'd left the cars out because we were planning on going back out after dinner

$5k in damage I could handle -- I just don't want the car to be totaled for such a stupid reason My car is my baby, and I have put a lot of time and work into it (not to mention $$$). Not sure what to think right now. The adjuster can't even get out to look at it until next week. We are having to have the windshield replaced on the Challenger by a crappy mobile windshield place just so we have a car to get to and from work in. This suuuuuuuucks

I had two cars in the hail storm that got nailed las colinas a few years back. M3 was 5k but fixable, sold that one. Tahoe got beat up, but my friend who was on their honeymoon parked his car at my place got his celica totaled(he was on his honey moon)! It was bbbaadddd. I feel for you guys and gals. I live close to classic, just some rain.

Sucks. I had my M3 out during the hail. In the same situation as you, broken windows and pretty much every panel has dents. Waiting for the insurance adjuster to get in touch with me.

Good luck!

I think it caught a lot of people off guard. I was heading home when the storm hit the Richardson area, but I only got a few pea sized nuggets. It was mostly super heavy rain that I saw. My house in east Richardson got next to zero rain too O_o, so it was definitely localized.

Sorry about your car cmyk, hope your insurance company pulls through for you.

Luckily my car was unharmed. But watching the news this morning and seeing all the damage that was cause, has me a little glad that at both work and home I park my car in a garage. Hopefully everything works out for the op's car.

Damn thats terrible. My GF called me around 6 and said she had golf ball sized hail near her house, I was at a Starbucks about 2 miles away so I hauled ass out of there and parked under a gas station but it didn't come.

I'm glad I have a garage to park in at work and at home

That sucks :/

Around this time of the year I always pay big time attention to the weather, and always try to park under something when/if possible if the weather even looks halfway bad.
