Has anyone done the European n52 Airbox

The change from the NA version to Euro part #13717552437 Looks very interesting. Comes with a filter and the MAF as well, which is a nice touch. Not bad for under $400.00.

Would love to know if it's worth any real gain. Filter certainly looks easier to change.

Whole assembly looks a lot bigger and nicer that the US spec unit.

A bunch of threads on this starting way back in 2010 or 11...

It is nice, but the MAF is a different model, with a different connection. Don't assume you can use it.

I did it on my wife's car. Improved fuel economy a bit and the car revs easier. This is how the US 328i should have come stock.

ECS says you have to use the old MAF for US cars.

I had it in my 328 but I used a K&N filter. You HAVE to use your old MAF sensor with it, the one that comes with the box looks completely different and won't work.

Now for the results.
Butt Dyno Gains: I would say the car felt a bit peppier but I also had the perf exhaust, tune, and 3 stage manifold. The box does look way nicer then stock and its design makes it way easier to get to the filter..

Real world results: Very little, if any, gains over the stock air box. Stock air box is fine, just cut out that charcoal filter from it..

plenty of posts where people have found on euro country ebay sites for dirt cheap. fcpeuro blew out their stock at 211 last year.

Yup, I got mine sans MAF for about $75 from the German eBay. You're definitely right about the easier filter changes.
