E92 325i (N53) Indy Oil Service - 5 Litres?

So I gave a new Indy a try a few weeks back and was generally happy with everything. However my wife had to collect the car as I was unavailable but the Indy called me and discussed everything so she just collected the car and paid.

While driving yesterday the oil top-up light came on to my surprise and I ended up having to pickup a litre to top it up.

Its only be 1,250miles since the service and when I then re-looked at the service invoice its shows only 5 litres of oil were used?

I recall reading that an oil service should use 6.5litres, I think?

Even if 5 litres was correct, is 1,250miles a bit quick for a top-up?

Thought's?

5 litres is too little should be on or around as you state 6.5 litres and re flagging up a message I'd say its about right but why they only put 5 litres in it god only knows the 320 petrol/diesel engines use around 5.5 litres. Thing is of course without a dipstick(bizarre I know) you're kind of reliant on the electronic oil level sensor system to monitor the level so maybe they were being a tad cautious :?: but if they were a BMW type Indy they'd also know the situation re levels and checking on these cars

5 litres definitely low for the 3 litre engine. A good 6-6.5 is required.

As said, definitely too little.

Surprised they only used that much as most garages have a wall chart identifying the capacity of most cars.

Yeah weird, I will give them a call in the morning and see what they say.

Even if they say they made an error on the invoice and it should be 6 litres, I expect even with 1,250 miles of driving another top-up being due that soon is to quick, right?

I ran the oil check this morning and it showed the level is now OK and is right at the max line.
