From what shiv is running, it isn't necessary but I would stay on the side of caution and just build the motor. No one has the stage 2 results yet. I should have them by early/mid November.

but with bigger twins, you can make tons of torque.. that's scarier then the HP numbers the single makes.

No one knows till the turbos are tested but we're shooting for the 500+hp area.

Why? Didn't shiv tear down an engine and come to the conclusion that the engine would not handle a lot more torque down low then what he is tuning currently, but is OK with high HP up top??

I'm using that logic to say that stage3 twins will be capable of making much more torque than RBs and more than a single in the midrange which means that engine might be at risk if we go all out.

Don't you agree?

Is it a stupid question to ask what constituted a stage 3 upgrade kit? Cause I have no clue.

Bigger turbos (with a new manifold), not hybrid turbos

Ya I saw stage 3 was TBD and I have been reading on the forum that there have been other turbo upgrades that have all failed to produce a stage 3 so I was wondering what exactly is involved to call a turbo upgrade a stage 3. Thanks for the info

No clue buddy. I have no idea how much those big twins can do but a lot of other people here (more so on the other forum) would know.
I know Terry just showed a plot with RBs for 500+Whp. There is no comparison between RBs (stage2) and stage3. It will also depend on the manifold design and other variables (read post23)... we'll see
