That's not much to work with, but sometimes it's all who you know. I have a friend living on the LES who is locked in at $1600 a month..others in the building are paying nearly double

finding a nice apartment that cheap will be difficult to say the least. I suggest checking out jersey city. Real close for the commute, and prices are reasonable. A few friends of mine settled on that route because the city is quite pricey

If you intend on living alone, that price range will get you a modest studio. However, like the other poster wrote, if you know someone you might be in luck. I have seen some good deals in the Stuy town area lately and places far on west side. Any idea what area you are looking for?

come to brooklyn dude (closer to the bridge if you can) … but yeah for that range in the city you can get a studio or one bedrom if lucky. Check >> http://newyork.craigslist.org ooooh… and harlem or uptown (washington heights may have better deals)… or LES like they said. Everywhere else is usually crazy or has a catch… alternatively there is queens (closer to bridge astoria, LIC) or NJ (jersey city or hoboken.. and somehwere else i forgot)
good luck let us know how it turns out. |
