I assume we will get a picture of the car for our refrigerator so we can see who we are sponsoring. Is it against the rules to get one with the 'hood up'?

3 years for stealing $200k?!?!?!?!?! NO WAY! He for damn sure is going to get more than 3 years for that amount of money. As long as Chris has all of his shit together (meaning CPA and records for the money and how it was stolen) whoever stole $200K is going to get more than 3 years in jail. Somebody stole $45K from one of my businesses and he got 5 years....But I did have all the documents to back it up...

PayPal sent. Good luck bro. Thanks for your service to our country. Fuck anyone who wants to blame you for this. Things come up and people need to learn some humility around here.

I can't even imagine how much you're freaking out right now. There is a guy on e46fanatics who just had a stage 3 car built and it's finished minus unlocking the aem controller and tuning!!!

Unless they took your money in bad faith, i.e, they knew they were going out of business but made the order anyways (contra a good faith belief they could pull through), you are just another creditor in line to get paid. Otherwise, you might have a restitution claim. (depending on your jurisdiction, the language of the purchase contract, etc)

Agreed. It sounds harsh but this is the truth. There are people starving out there and people are donating money to a guy who has a luxury car trying to do an overpriced & unnecessary upgrade while rejoicing that "there is hope for humanity".

The total cost of ownership on a single turbo car isn't for the shallow pocket fellow, I speculate...
Eric, say you get donations sufficient to sort things out, and I hope you do, you'll have an absolute time bomb on your hands. If you say you'll drive it carefully, you're kidding yourself. The first time something breaks again... Then what?

Family > cars

Good luck. You're much more patient than me, to have allowed a company that didn't show any significant signs of growth by any stretch have your car for that long and sit so dormant with it.

To the business owner that doesn't notice something like this, it's not a wonder it happened in the first place IMO. Especially if it occurred gradually as opposed to quickly.

Just a FYI... I know Sikh335 (Prem) is banned, but he has donated $100. As much as some people don't like him, he's really a nice guy. So big props to Prem for helping Eric in a time of need.

Prem ~ Thanks brother...

Ummmm
Wouldn't it be more cost effective to ship the car back to Kansas and just fly Shiv there instead of shipping the car twice?

The problem is that we don't know if it's more than just a tuning issue. It's more than likely that hardware will have to be modified/changed. This often requires welding and machining equipment that doesn't fit in overhead storage bins.
