Agggghhhhh Rear Ended Again

So this afternoon just after leaving the office I got rear ended... again. This is the third time. The first was in a parking lot about 18 months ago, someone reversed into my parked car and left (luckily someone noted their license plate), then around early december a guy went into the back of a van which then went into the back of me on the DVP.

Tonight I was stopped at the traffic lights going south on University Ave at Queen St W and the taxi behind me goes into me. The guy was being a right arse and saying there was no damage to my car and that I had a couple of screws in my back bumper which were in fact the imprints from the screws holding his license plate on. He at first refused to exchange info until I called the police and then decided he would cooperate.

Just spend 40 minutes or so at the collision reporting centre and I guess I'll go and get it looked at a body shop tomorrow and sort out getting it repaired. It's not so much the damage, but all the wasted time that annoys me. At least last time my insurance company (Meloche Monnex) and the body shop (don valley auto) did a great job and sorted out everything with minimal effort from me so hopefully it will be the same again.

just needed to vent...

Fuk the taxi drivers. I got rear ended once by them too. They refused to exchange info as well. Luckily there was no damage on my car and his bumper was totally fucked, so I let it go. Good luck bro. I get into a fight with a taxi driver on a daily basis.

Back to the OP, that sucks man but atleast you got everything documented. Cabs carry pretty hefty insurance that is designed from the ground up to be quick (seeing as how the vehicles involved are required for the policy holder to make a living). This may have taken a while now but I don't expect his insurance to put up a fight so it should be a relatively quick payout.

I do agree that taxi drivers are the worst though...
... and have you seen the black airport limos? They actually drive under 100 in the fast lane... you can see them going up and down the 427, impeding traffic, all the time.

Did you get his insurance info? If so, this is a gift, no? The rear needed to be repainted, right?

Things are going quite well, the car is booked in at don valley auto next wednesday so hopefully I'll have it back on the friday and the insurance is sorting out all payment for the repairs and car rental directly.
