Post SSQV vs Tial vs Synchronic

I'm looking to finally get a charge-pipe for methanol injection and other reasons. I'm having trouble deciding on a Bypass Valve.

I have experience with SSQVs on my 300zx and they are great but still have some flimsy/plastic parts internally, and I wonder if the Synapse could be an improvement.

I don't want compressor surge or fluttering, and I do want the best boost response possible.

I've heard great things about Tial, but it usually is kind of a hard-headed "It's best because it's made in USA and used forever" type of answer.

Synapse is newer in the game, and their engineering articles and video testing leaves me curious.

Which valve would you choose and why? Thanks!

Tial or SSQV 4. Synapse stays partially open under light load for some odd reason. I have the HKS SSQV 4 and NEVER had an issue at all, and man does this thing sounds great. I say Tial just because of it rep and reliability.

The Synapse is going to respond much faster than the SSQV. I've had both in another car. I didn't like the sound at all from the SSQV at all...

But the point is response, which is where the Synapse has it beat.

It's going to stay open until you have some pressure to close it. That's the point. There's no harm in it being open under vac.
word...

i know not many people on this board talk about it but my favorite bov is greddy type s, i have used both the tail and the hks one and i still would pick the greddy type s one every time. holds boost great and sounds great! my 2 cents.

Thanks for all the feedback guys! The Synapse being open under vacuum is actually explained in their engineering article. My SSQVs do the same thing. Although if there is actual vacuum in the charge-pipe, I'd like to use the filter attachment to keep from sucking in debri.

So Railgun, you've tried the SSQV and Synchronic and found the Synchronic to respond faster? Have you ever tried a Tial valve? I've tried a Greddy type S on my sr20det 240zx, but could not get the damn thing to work right no matter what spring, washers or adjustment to the top allen nut I tried.

I take it that that was probably the SSQV 3, not 4.

Tial is my choice. Bought a brand new one for my turbo M3. Sounds great but thats not the point here. You want something well built and reliable. Tial fits the bill every time for that. Check out many many of the high HP cars out there, all using Tial. Underground Racing.....tial. HPF I think uses Tial too.

my Tial WG has been working great for years and years, no issues.
