bluetooth
this has probably been asked before, but what does a phone icon in the nav display mean? it's a little phone icon to the left of the signal strength icon at the bottom of the nav display -- i can't seem to find a reference anywhere in the manual.
also, my balckberry curve worked fine for the first two months and now it only works once in a while (i can't access my contact list any longer and the blutooth connection drops). anyone else have this problem? predictably, bmw wasys the curve from verizon isn't officially supported. thank you... |

+1 about updating your smartphone / cellphone software:
My Palm Treo 775p (Palm OS / Verizon) didn't work fully until I updated it's software: A bit over a month ago, I got a new 2008 335i (e92 with bluetooth, no iDrive, no iPod), It paired and harvested the phone book of my Motorola Razr V3m, so I know the car's system worked fine. Two weeks later, the Razr died and I got a 775p smartphone. It paired and I could make and receive calls through the car, but the car didn't harvest the phone book. (The car did harvest the Favorites Buttons over, so that was a bit useful). Then I found out that there was a free software update for the Treo 775p, I updated, and had to re-bond the phone with the 335i, but from now on, my car harvests the full phone book! The phone software must have improved it's bluetooth compatibility. Also, to confirm an earlier poster, when the car links with my phone, the ProSterio display shows a little phone icon.

it might be that ur curve is for verizon. verizon always does funky stuff to their phones bluetooth capabilities. my att curve works perfectly. except i think it takes about a min too long to sync up when i get in to my car.

"TI" means traffic info. It means the Nav is picking up traffic data over the air. The little phone icon is on for me when I have a missed call.

I had issues with my old phone (Sony Ericsson W810i) where some contacts/numbers would be missing but it happened only with that phone. |
