Best intakes
1. BMW performance intake
2. Euro Inake
3. stock intake with charcoal filter removed and a k&n drop in filter

The added mainfold and a tune will give you a decent HP boost.

+1. I would go with the euro intake. Right now I'm running stock intake with charcoal delete, AFE drop in and Cyba scoops.

It does not make a lot of sound difference, neither do the euro or performance intake as they are closed systems. That said, closed systems are the best for actual performance in a BMW, for sound in the cabin, you would need an open system which some people have seen a loss in performance from. Either way, it is personal preference.

I have the common setup, cyba scoops, k&n with charcoal delete and like it for the price and stock appearance.

it is safe deleting the charcoal from the intake? how much money did you spend doing the charcoal delete, cyba scoops and the K&N filter?

Thanks !

Yes, removing the charcoal element is safe. it is an emissions item and not found in the euro box or the performance intake. Follow the DIY posts and you will have no problem.

Cyba Scoops were $41.00 Shipped

K&N filter was a gift but listed at $52.00 on Amazon, I am sure there are cheaper. You can also use either the dry or oiled AFE filters. I prefer oiled for performance as I never really off road my sedan and have always had success with K&N in other cars.

You need torx bits in a couple sizes, 22 & 25 I think. A pin puller or flat nose plyers, a flat head screwdriver and a 10mm socket for the scoops and filter. The scoops take less than 5 minutes to do. The filter takes about 15 because you must remove the whole housing from the car.

For the charcoal delet, I did something complex and different so just follow the DIY, you will need a rotary tool (dremel) with a cutting bit, sanding ring and buffer to make it look pretty. Make sure to remove the MAF sensor from the housing first and don't touch the element or get it dirty.

And why would the PI be it? If we're not talking money my bet is the original intake is best (maybe not great, that's another discussion). Simple high school scientific knowledge indicates original intake is best, with maybe allowance for improved intake flow at low speed for the Mr.5 intake solution.
Having said that, the last place where you want your intake is low to the ground, A) for dirt, and B) while that's where you see highest (road surface) intake temperatures in summer.

I dont necessarily see what you are asking?.... All Im saying is that after looking at dyno's and talking to several people who work at my car shop, after what I have seen/heard/felt the PI has been the most impressive for the N/A's.
