OK, repeat dyno today after the CA Automtive remap.

Gained 47 BHP and 65lb/ft of torque at the wheel, estimated crank values based on a 22% loss in the torque converter, 345 BHP and 512lb/ft The torque gain is most impressive, considering the V10 in the E60 M5 'only' twist at 384lb/ft.

Only gripe, at 3950 RPM on the dyno, the gearbox nanny kicked in to protect the gearbox (as you can see from the graph below engine power was being limited). This is what BMW has programmed into their new 6-speeder to prevent it from overheating and sending the car into limp mode.

However, peak torque has already been achieved at 3000RPM, and 4000 RPM really isn't the type of revolution that can kill and auto gearbox. I'm not sure why, but shall investigate. On the road, the engine pulls cleanly well into 4000RPM even during spirited driving; it's only when I drive the car VERY hard, I can feel the gearbox nanny kick in.

Overall I'm very happy with the gains, especially for the money. My most effective bang for buck mod to date. The gearbox nannying isn't a limiting factor in real world driving and gear changes occur well before 4000RPM. The immense torque and midrange is what that turn the 335D into an ultimate stealth machine.

What I've also learned is not to drive the 335D like an M3, it's actually slower. Make use of the long ratio and upshift before engine efficiency falls; hence, there's absolutely no need to red line the big six.

when i try to change up at around 4.25 k it keeps swinging round to 4.7 ish??

so whats happens when you rev yours the car slows down cause of the nanny?

The gearbox software limits the amount of engine power, it's constantly doing it when the gearbox threshold for temperature and load is neared or breeched. Sometimes, it's very subtle. Only the driver can feel it as you'll notice why at a certain throttle position the engine is not as strong as it should be.

So what is the 0-60 following remap ? Looks very quick to 60 if only it wasn't for the gear change which seems to hold it up.

0-60 following my re-map ranges between 4.8 and 5.5 sec. It really depends on the getaway. However, with a tuned diesel, 0-60 times are not as impressive as for 0-100 or 70-120 times. It's the midrange pull, especially 2nd and 3rd gear pull being most impressive. My car does a 0-100 in 11.9 sec

Once you've driven a 335D that has been re-mapped, you wouldn't want to drive a stock car ever again.

I drove my friend's E92 335D M-Sport he picked up last week. It's so slow!

Its 1st on my list, after CSL wheels, blacklines and black out grille, which will all be day 'one' incidently, then a 1000 or so miles and its off for the remap.

i've had the DMS remap on a 535d and the figures look very similar but do they provide a warranty with the work and how much does it cost ?

I have never driven a DMS diesel long enough to compare but I would guess they offer similar performance. The CA Automotive map is more individual as you can request for certain characteristics such as throttle exponential, different patterns in power delivery etc. DMS's products are very good, you just walk in an get what is off the shelf, a more 'supermarket' approach, although you can't go wrong with it. CA offers a warranty too. Cost £525 including VAT.

i woudl say definately 0-60 in 4.8 because i would suggest out orignal 'stock quater times of 13.9 and 14.0 would indicate 5.5 0-60 i believe

0-100 in 11.9 is quick nick :rocks: :rocks: , how have you prooved this?
