Winter Tire Question.

i currently have e92

225/45R17 Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D 2008 Production
on
17x7.5 Black Painted Sport Edition A7

just drove 2~3k miles last winter and two of tires got bubble and trying to replace them.

but from tirerack saleman was telling me if i use two different kind of tires front and rear is not safe??!?!?!?

wondering if i have to buy all four tires again or hes just fishing me

gonna use old winter tires on front and new winter tires on rear if possible.

advise me with infos please.

Yea you really should keep the same size, is your car rwd or awd? I would just buy the same size, search tirerack, ebay, cl, or forum

Btw 225 seems wide for winter tires, You should go 205 next time IMO.

mines RWD, and yeah im gonna get same size but wondering if different brands matter with rear and front since tirerack salesman was warning me to not get just two new tires if its not same brand/model. i think he just want to make up his sales...

That's exactly what I would do in your case. With the amount of miles you put on them the old ones should still have most of the tread left on them anyway so I don't see any reason to replace all 4. He is just trying to scare you into spending a little extra $$$
