Difference between S840 & 840 options codes?
Does anyone know the difference between option codes S840 & 840? I asked my SA above the PPK v1 for my '11 335xi (E92 M sport), and after looking into it he said I couldn't do it because I needed option code S840. I checked a printout that I had for my car when I ordered it, and it lists option code 840 (increased speed limiter), but not S840. I have the add'l oil cooler in front of the passenger front wheel, also. Just looking or definitive info regarding the two options codes. Searching did not get me an answer. Thanks in advance for any knowledgable help.

This is the problem I experienced: some dealerships are inexperienced and paranoid to install it for the first time. If you have the Sport Pkg or the M-Sport Pkg with the increased speed limiter (840) and the oil cooler from the factory, then PPK can be installed. Suggest you check with another dealership that has done these installs and are knowledgeable. I had to go to a dealership 60 miles away from NYC to get mine done.

Update:
Had the power kit installed this past week, after confirming that option codes S840 & 840 are the same. Additional information here: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=576779 |
